    Interesting article

Hudson had 10 disabled H9 but only 1 functional for a whole Shooting bay

In our first article about SHOT Show 2017 we are going to cover one of the biggest hypes going into it, the Hudson H9. Companies have to be careful when coming into a product launch with such a large build up, if you over hype the product or it's capabilities you run into the issue

I like the first impressions of it.

      Nice low barrel axis.

Too bad we can't have nice new things here.

Hundson had only 4-5 employees at the booth in their bay. It isn't a conspiracy, it was range safety. They had 2 folks talking and showing the
display guns and accessories made for them (holsters etc), 1-2 people loading mags, and another with the live pistol and shooter.

That is no different from any other company at ANY of the range days. As you can see from that "article" they let just about anyone in these days- safety is a concern all around.

So a year later and reviews are mixed. I think the higher prices pushes it to the "Too expensive for what it provides" category.

I hope that any issues it has are fixed. Seems like the upside down trigger safety makes it feel "weird" and the combination of the trigger weirdness and the sights have people shooting low (or high, whichever).

So seems like it's a cool idea, but too expensive.

I really hope the company survives and can improve on this gun to the point where it really is a decent value and an excellent gun.

I'm rooting for them, but even if we were trusted by the state to own one, I'd wait for version 2 or 3 before considering it.

                Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Looks cheap compared to the one in the marketplace which had a crazy starting price of $3000. It's now at $2500. I'm guessing it might sell once its down around $1800 or so.

Based on the mixed reviews, I would pass even at the free state price.

It must be in such short supply. Just like off roster pistols in CA.

Well imagine in 20 years, you'll be watching "Forgotten Weapons" on youtube and they'll mention how a Hudson H9 is coming up for auction for $5000.

A year in, and Hudson is falling behind in competition use.

Latest Production division survey from USPSA Iron Sight Nations in 2017.

                        1) 37% CZ
                        2) 21% Tanfoglio
                        3) 12% Glock
                        4) 9% Sig Sauer
                        5) 6% Springfield
                        6) 6% Walther

It's no good, just from the empirical data.

Got a chance to play with one awhile back. Was not impressed, the trigger felt like trash.

There are some; not many, on GB for the MSRP or less.

Looks like they announced a cheaper alloy version at ShotShow. The H9A spposedly shaves half a pound off the originals weight.

Hudson Manufacturing has just released their new H9A pistol. It is an aluminum-framed version of the striker fired double stack Hudson H9 pistol chambered in 9x19mm.The original Hudson H9 has a steel frame with interchangeable G10 made grips, while the H9A will be half a pound lighter than the 34 oz H9 due to the aluminum chassis and some sleek lightening. It uses rough texture polymer grips also, which are very aggressively textured and very grippy.Hudson is also introducing a threaded drop in barrel that will fit both the H9 and the H9A.If you aren’t familiar with the H9, which was introduced at last year’s SHOT Show, our own Hraycha H.
