Glock 19 still worth it?

I love my G19. I have added more than I need to it (surefire xc1 rail light, updated the sights, etc.) but ultimately its one of my favorite range guns and I have her on nightstand duty. I would not carry it on a daily basis. I've not been blown away by the shield, so I am looking into adding a G43 to my collection.Comment

Ditto.
Many folk come in wanting a Glock. I show them other options and they walk out with a DROS and receipt showing an HK P2000 V2.

Is a G19 worth it?
NO!

forget the pinky extension for the mp shield. get the mag gut +1 base it will extend the mag a bit and add 1 more round to the 8 rounder.Comment

If you want a $500 gun and that's all you can afford and use to shooting, then go for a G19. But if you want a nicer gun that is similar in size, I would highly recommend going with a CZ P01. Feels way better and so much easier to shoot accurately.
If you can get a hold of a Walther PPQ or a HK VP9, then I would also recommend going with any of these also.Comment

I got a Glock 19 Gen 3 for Fathers Day 2015 and it has been perfect right out of the box.I really like the Glock 19 and how it feels but I'm wondering if it's still a good purchase even being limited to only 10 rounds? Should I consider a 26 or M&P Shield instead? I'll mostly be using it for range fun, home defense with the possibility of carry way down the road when I have much more training and experience.

I think the new CZ P-10C may well blow away the G19, too bad we can't buy them here... I think given what's available, hard to go wrong with the G19. If the 17 feels better in your hand, go with that one, you can always add a 19 to your collection later when CCW becomes a reality for you.Comment

Would a Glock 23 Gen 2 be a good substitute for a Glock 19?Comment

I went with the G26 for carry, as you can carry it with the max 10 round mag and still conceal it.
IMO, the Glock 19 is the perfect size for all around shooting and HD.
Definitely worth it.
It can be used for CCW although not ideal.
You might want something smaller for CCW like the 26 or shield.
Get the 19 now to practice,
then get the 26 or shield later.
Both is always the best answer.
Never can have too many guns.
And if you decide to sell the 19 later down the road, you won't have a problem finding a buyer.
Glocks have the highest resale value of other on roster polymer strikerfired guns like the XD, FMK, hi point.
Have a big hand, add a grip extension:
Still not satisfied, get a G19 as well (Or simply get a G43)...
