    Glock 19 still worth it?

I haven't owned a gun in a few years and I'm so close to making a purchase. I was considering a Sig P239 but than figured out I do not like DA/SA systems so now I'm looking at other choices. Also its pretty darn expensive.

I really like the Glock 19 and how it feels but I'm wondering if it's still a good purchase even being limited to only 10 rounds? Should I consider a 26 or M&P Shield instead? I'll mostly be using it for range fun, home defense with the possibility of carry way down the road when I have much more training and experience.

You're going to be limited to 10 rounds with any of the ones mentioned, so if you shoot it well and can afford it, I'd say go for it.

IMO, the Glock 19 is the perfect size for all around shooting and HD. Definitely worth it. It can be used for CCW although not ideal.

You might want something smaller for CCW like the 26 or shield.

Get the 19 now to practice, then get the 26 or shield later. Both is always the best answer. Never can have too many guns. And if you decide to sell the 19 later down the road, you won't have a problem finding a buyer. Glocks have the highest resale value of other on roster polymer strikerfired guns like the XD, FMK, hi point.

Im one of seemingly few people who dont like the glock 19. Its everything I dont want in a gun, and nothing I do want.

For a range gun or home defense, I dont want anything smaller than a 17. Preferably a 34, or even a 17L.

For carry, a glock 19 looks like a monster next to a shield. Its significantly larger and not something id want to carry.

I dont think round count makes any difference for gun size choice. 1911's are enormous and dont even hold 10 rounds. Doesnt make them bad guns.

I think it is worth it. I love my G19, however, if you're like me you will want to change out the sights so add another $100-$150 to the cost of the gun.

10 rounds of quality 9 mm still makes for a very effective weapon. Don't get caught up in the smaller is better. Before you make a final decision, take a look at the 17 and 34. I have never understood the rational to go smaller just because we are limited to 10 rounds. It really does not make sense to me. A full size gun is much easier to shoot well.

For range and HD, it is still worth buying. I have a Gen 2 and Gen 3. Even with the CA artificial limit 10 rounds I do not feel under gunned.

For CCW, while I have the Gen 2 on my permit, I rarely carry it. Just too bulky and only see's a holster in the wintertime when I can cover with a jacket/flannel.

For carry , go with a shield you mentioned. For an all around gun that is fun to shoot go with the 19.

Those who went with a 19 and don't carry it.. why did you choose that over a 17?

For me it was the first semi auto striker fired handgun I bought. It just fit my hand. CCW was a long ways off for me at the time so when I finally did get the permit I added it on.

I have owned a 17, 22, and 35 over the years. I never cared for a Glock in a full size frame as much as I wanted to make myself like them. Could I shoot them? Yes, but I have always prefered the 19 for some reason.

I shot and didn't like the G17. Love the G19. Fits the hand better for me. Why not go with the G34 if bigger is better?

I love the 19 17 26 and 43 of all of those my favorite to shoot is my 26.

that being said the 19 and 17 are also great guns. pick them all up and see what fits better

My 34 is my 'go to" gun, at least 35,000 rounds through it. Range, home defense etc.
