    Justifying Gun purchase

I am torn between letting myself buy a rather pricey new gun. Specifically a $3000 STI edge in 9mm for 3 gun. Do I need it absolutely not I'm sure I can do just fine with my current setup (Glock 34) but the opportunity presented itself and it's just one of those things. How do you justify spending this much on a Pistol. Specifically ways to get my wife on the same page lol. I keep talking myself out of it. I say it won't make you better shooter spent the money on better things lol can't think of anything better yet. But $3000 for a pistol and. That's just the beginning. What does everyone think

will it prevent you from making your mortgage payment?
will you still have food on the table?
can your wife spend the same?
    do you still "need" it?

do you shoot enough to justify that vs. buying $3000 in ammo, and getting better through practice?

      but.....

IF YOU WANT IT YOU WANT IT.

Buy it, Run It, sell it for a few hundo less, and then consider that how much you paid for the experience.

Life is too short to do without certain pleasures. If you can afford it without breaking the bank, I say go for it. The joy of owning a truly magnificent firearm goes well beyond it's performance - there's a sense of pride and fulfillment that goes along with it.

Yes, I own a $3000 pistol. And yes, I love it. And yes, it was a hell of a lot of money at the time. But fortunes come and go.

If it saves your life one day how do you justify not buying it?

Oh yes I forgot to mention my wife said she wants the same $$$ that I spend on my new gun and so far that's only thing making me second guess it lol. I have a good saving account so no problem feeding and paying mortgage lol. I shoot 3 matches a month and I have owned an STI before and sold it and lost about $1000 and regret selling it and funny thing is my wife said don't sell it you know you will want one again and sure enough I'm here 1 year later and she said I told you so. I miss the weight I miss the look I miss the trigger and just owning it. But when it boils down my performance wasn't any different between the glock 34

If you sold three $800 guns, your STI would only cost $1200 ($600 for you and $600 for your wife).

Because you want it. It is just that simple. Do you work and bring money into the household? Can you afford it? She wants the same amount of money? Let her go nuts. The money is hers too. I went and dropped a chunk of change on a gold Rolex GMT Master II for no other reason than I wanted it.

Guns are like Mistresses, never discuss them with your wife. I have a second gun safe in my house my wife hasn't even found (yet). I don't go count her every expanding collection of shoes.

Telling your wife - BAHAHAH that's funny. "Honey, that old thing, ive had that" I do that with firearms and surfboards.

                          Heres what to ask yourself:
Are you in debt - pay that off first
Is your family takin care of - will this hurt you
Is this going on a CC to purchase

If you don't have financial problems and don't need to pay off debt, fack it - you only live once, buy the gun.

Well, I let my wife know about large expenses, and she is simply cool as fvck about it. She supports my hobbies/habits. She asks for very little. So, I keep her supplied in Coach purses every few months, she is thankful and our house is in harmony. Whatever works for people.

Currently only Debt I have is mortgage.no car payment or credit cards. That's another thing I'm very much anti debt and credit cards and I kind of see getting the gun will slow me down in paying off my house lol. I like to have a big fat emergency fund makes me feel warm and fuzzy.this gun will be coming out of that.
