That really sucks. I read somewhere that they did away with it but wasn't sure if it was true.Yup, last year Springfield stopped using their ILS on their 1911's however here in CA that's the way it was submitted so they ship the CA guns in with the ILS.
I believe that the only Springfield 1911's that are CA compliant that don't come with the ILS are the Pro's.History doesn't repeat itself but it rhymesComment

If you have a chance to get one, get it and dont look back.
Side note.. I have a 9.5/10 condition TRP operator half rail with about 600 rounds through it that I might be willing to sell/trade.. PM me for inquiries.Last edited by ShredLA; 01-08-2017, 9:16 AM.Comment

I heard that too until my buddy and I both picked up some EMPs from a LGS and neither had the horrid ILS.I provide opinions...

Weird, I just checked out a new EMP and it definitely had the ILS.
If the SKU on the box ends in LPCA or LCA (evidently Springfield stopped doing the packages this year as well) and it doesn't have an ILS you and your buddy scored!CRPA Lifetime MemberComment

Yes, and the LGS must have removed the new sticker that SA is putting on the packages stating that the gun is NOT on the CA Roster. I'm guessing this happened because the LGS ordered these EMP's using the original model number not knowing that they now needed to order the model number with "CA" at the end.
Hard to blame them for selling these as being on the roster. The model number is an exact match to the roster. I would guess that they will order the CA models moving forward now that they figured out this model number change.
Obviously, Springfield and the distributors did not do a good job of informing all their dealers of the ILS and model number change to all of the non Professional Springfield 1911's & EMP's.Comment
