I have been thinking of getting a 1911 in the TRP price range, but figured the Dan Wesson PM7 might be a better gun for the same/nearly same price. Is it one of those things where the SA folks say TRP is better, and the DW folks insist the PM7 is better? Or is one measurably better than the other?
Most of what I have read suggests the Dan Wesson would be the better choice of the two. I guess I'll just have to get both, right?

Look it up on here: http://certguns.doj.ca.gov/
The only TRPs that are currently on roster for sale in CA are the Full Rail and Non-railed versions. Apparently the half rail'd frames are too dangerous for us.Comment

Sorry if I miss anything. But the roster just says:
PC9107L (ambi safety) / Stainless Steel Pistol 5" .45 ACP 1/1/2018
PC9107L / Stainless Steel Pistol 5" .45 ACP 1/1/2018
There's nothing about rail or grip? Folks here say PC9107L is only for the "old" model with red wood grip. I'm very curious to know the full story.

SA TRP vs DW PM7, that's a long controversy. Yeah, get both if you have budget.

If you look up the model on the Springfield site, it will show that this is the Non-Rail version in stainless steel, currently being offered with the G10 grips. There was apparently a change in the grips being offered over the years, with the older model offered with the red wood grips and the newer models with the G10 grips. Luckily for us a change in the grips did not require Springfield to re-certify this model for our Roster otherwise we might've lost it from the roster.Sorry if I miss anything. If it has operator in the title you know its serious
Real talk, theyre good guns. Somewhat hard to come by but not too terrible to find. The checkering is like shark teeth, so use sandpaper on your hands before use. You will also become very good at reloading, but that goes for any 1911 lol.Comment

I just look at SA site.
9105GL is half rail, off roster
9105L full rail, on roster
9107L no rail, stainless, on roster
9108L not sure. There are 2 listed as 9108L, and I cannot tell the diff.
It's weird riflegear shows there are 2 9107L, CA and non-CA, and I cannot tell the diff.
