Well I ended up putting the G19 on layaway. Went and looked at em both tonight and as much as I loved the G34, I think the G19 would suit my needs better.

        Same gun. Same sweet trigger.

Very accurate and opens up more competition venues as well (.40)
Runs perfect with a 9 barrel/mags because it's the same frame.

        G35

And if not that route, ya the 34 as many suggest. We enjoy ours very much.

Well I went to my LGS to put the G34 on layaway and the guy behind the counter tells me he got in 3 rare Glocks...two Glock 17s and one Glock of the on roster Larry Vickers RTF2 Glocks. So needless to say, I have a Larry Vickers RTF2 Glock on layaway

two totally different guns with totally different purposes

depends on what you want to do with it

no doubt the glock 19 is an overall great handgun for just about anything, but if you have ZERO expectations of carrying either one, then I'd say the 34 is a better choice..

                  much better trigger
                  longer sight radius obviously
                  extended mag release is nice
cool cut out in the slide so some argue it looks better
bigger grip if you're a bigger guy....although i like the feel of the 19 better

                  i have both

they both take turns as the nightstand gun but i enjoy shooting the 34 much more

cant go wrong with either one (which I'm sure almost everyone here would say)

Neither. Plus they are all the same regardless of caliber

I made that choice because the 19 is easier to handle for me than the 34 - holster, reholster, etc. I see no benefit in the longer slide at home defense ranges. I have 3 children under 5 years old and most scenarios have me shuffling them around and carrying them at some point. I keep my 19 in a holster on a duty belt next to my bed - extra mags, flashlight, and phone stay in the belt also. It would go on if needed so I could carry kids etc. and not have to think about where the items I need are. 19's size is much easier for me in and out of holster and just can't imagine what is gain with the longer slide/grip.

I know you didn't ask ME. Just thought I'd give an answer as to why someone might make that choice.
I do believe that, where there is only a choice between cowardice and violence, I would advise violence... I would rather have India resort to arms in order to defend her honour than that she should, in a cowardly manner, become or remain a helpless witness to her own dishonor. -- Mahatma Ghandi
