Just realized my "race" on the DROS form is wrong..

I just picked up a handgun today, came home and realized that my FFL put in the wrong "race" on the form. It passed anyway, even though I think he put my correct race in earlier DROS's. Is this a huge problem? And do I have to report this to someone? Thanks

Dude,its a HUGE Problem. you need to fix this ASAP before you end up on the APPS list and the gun police come pay you a visit. you need to call the FFL and have them report the error to the DOJ. you will be assigned a case number and receive a follow up call within 48 hours. however if the FFL takes to long you could be in for a visit so i would call the DOJ directly, here is their phone number. Phone: (916) 227-7527 Fax: (916) 227-7480 explain what happened, they will give you a case number and ask you to fax over your birth certificate and a color photograph of your face. you might have to pay a small fine, but the FFL should reimburse you for the penalty payment if they are legit.

you have probably already been flagged in their system, i would get on this soon.

Don't worry, no one cares. Everything will be just fine. If they want to find you, they won't be relying upon the description on the DROS form

The correct "race" should read: Human.

on my latest DROS I got exact the same error-born in USSR, race is American Indian. No big deal at all. I just have to live with this.

Eventually the forms will be politically correct like the UC system will be soon.
When it comes to sex, the form will say "assigned gender at birth", there will be no "race", it will be called "culture" and it will be a subjective category depending on how you feel at the moment.

One of my Asian friends who worked at a shooting range and gun store always put Black on his DROS forms.
