My first firearm - CZ75B

This isn't the beginning of the industrial revolution where the man had to fit the machine.
We've come a long way since then.
Proper ergonomics are necessary for good performance when doing just about anything.
I presume you adjust the driver's seat of a new car, the steering wheel angle and mirrors to fit you, right?
Most handguns are nowhere near as adjustable as a car seat, so picking a handgun that has a good fit is a must.
How a gun fits your hand is critical to how well you can shoot it.
You will always do better with a gun that fits your hand properly and points naturally for you.
Now that may be a Glock, or a HK, or Sig, or 1911, or whatever.
Whatever fits you best is what you should use.

OP: Great choice on the CZ!
It's a nice quality gun that will serve you well for years.
Oh, and they fit my hand perfectly.

My 1st CZ was a P-01 then my lgs had them on sale and i got a Rami and 75B...
Im waiting for a 97B next.......oh my pocket book But they are great shooters

Bought my first CZ, an SP-01, two months ago. Picked up a PCR last week out of jail and have a CZ-83 in jail. Despite the negative comment from one individual (who apparently suffers from CZ envy), enjoy your new pistol. Shooting is a great hobby and there are many experienced enthusiasts on Calguns to support you On this journey. Congrats!

Excellent choice, OP. Disregard the one stick in the mud. There's got to be one in every crowd. I have no problem with people with differing opinions, but there is a way to express them in an inoffensive way.

Congratulations OP. This being your first, you have set a high bar for pistols based on value, ergonomics and accuracy. If you don't carry, hunt or compete this could be the last firearm you should need. We all know it won't be your last.

You're going to have fun with those roll pins as a new firearm owner, lol. Alot of small moving parts too, complicated full dissemble. Should have bought a Glock brand Glock, specially as a new owner. It doesn't get simpler.

I don't get the hype over CZ's, everything about that gun looks cheap.

I agree with the feels good in the hand, may not always be the best, the sig 226 felt good in my hand shot excellent, but the slide release was to far back so I got rid of it. Most people don't go past field stripping a hand gun. When my oldest was 12 he took a Glock clompletely apart, even pulled out the fire pin sleeve, sand blasted and I Cerakoted it and baked, then he reassembled. You don't even need real tools to take it apart. I was able to push most stock sights out with my thumbs. Yes the CZ is slightly more difficult to disassemble more parts, but is fairly easy to put together. Beretta 92 and 96 now the safety is very tricky to reinstall. Op I like Your CZ it looks sweet, go out and shoot it, they are great guns, if you decide you want a Glock to then get one the are great shooters as well, but IMO they are kind of ugly, everyone has a right to their opinion. Just learn how to shoot it properly the better your skills are the more you will enjoy shooting. Don't wast your ammo in the dirt in front of the target.

OP, you made a big mistake here and I am surprised that nobody else has mentioned this.

You bought a CZ, that is all fine and dandy, but I have to ask.... Did the dealer have any other CZ's in stock? If so, your mistake was not putting a deposit down on one of those. They can be hard to find at times.

Otherwise, great choice. This time last year I did not own a single CZ. Now, I own 3 and would love to get a P-01 (my 4th).

Oh, and one of these days someone will figure out why there are so many Glock fans that feel the need to slam other brands and types of handguns. Until then, just enjoy the heck out of your CZ. I know I will enjoy mine.

A couple years ago, I discovered CZs. Purchased a 75B in .40. Sold it. A few months later, purchased a 75B in 9mm. Sold it. A few months later, purchased a Rami in 9mm. Sold it. Also been through Glocks (didn't fit me very well), 1911s (loved it but ammo too expensive), GP100s (yes, a couple), Beretta 92, etc.

Why did I sell them? Because, like so many people here, I was trying to find the perfect handgun and I had to go through a bunch before finding the right one.

Two months ago, what did I buy? Yep, a 75B SA/DA in 9mm. This won't be going anywhere soon. IMHO, they're great to shoot, low recoil, and very accurate. Enjoy your purchase.

I just picked up my first CZ today - a 2075 Rami. Watched a couple of videos to learn how to clean/strip it. I'm having a difficult time popping out the pin to release the slide.
Did you have any difficulties breaking it down?

Despite the fact this is my first personal handgun, I did go out and shoot few times, so I'm not completely "brand new", I'm brand-newish. I did shoot Glock 19, Beretta 92fs, Springfield XD that to me were all great in their own way.

When I was making my choice I wanted my first handgun to be DA/SA. And before I picked up CZ it came down to Beretta 92fs, SIG P229 and CZ75B. They are all awesome. There was something or rather many things about CZ75B that I found quite attractive, plus the price ($549) for what you get is really good. Two days after I got mine, a friend of mine got Sig P229 Elite that I told him the store had in stock, so I will get to check it out when we go out and shoot together.

CZ75B is really easy to strip down and clean and I cannot imagine need to take it apart further than that.

I'll check back with my shooting experience with it.

Thanks a lot everyone, so many great and encouraging comments, I'm glad to be a part of culguns.
When I was at the store they also had CZ 75 D PCR Compact. They had more then 5 in stock, both PCR and 75B I got, they also had one 75B with decocker.

75B's sold out within a little more than a week and PCR's sold out within 5 days.
So I was actually comparing PCR and 75B. I actually thought that with having small hands I may like PCR better, but to my surprise I did like the full size 75B much more.

I already got 1250 rounds of Federal American Eagle 9mm Luger 124 Grain. This is going to be fun for sure!!
