Great first gun, but be careful, CZ's multiply like rabbits.

Cool, that's what I have been doing. I actually think that using snap caps should be a recommendation for anyone new.
My idea was to also use snap caps but in your mind treat them like live ammo to reinforce safety.
When you use snap caps and pull the slide to eject them, you can of course do it fast until your hand finally gets tired. If you pull it back and forth slowly, it will occasionally jam with one of them in front of a barrel and another one already kind of pushed out, the slide remains open and you cannot eject the mag. So I thought that this imitates a jam quite well. So for anyone new, imagine this is live ammo and how do you behave and solve it with all the safety rules in mind.
I thought of it when I was staring at the jammed snap caps. May not be a bad idea to run through that scenario with snap caps.

If I were recommending a "first gun" to someone (hand gun that is) this would be on the short list. Fine choice.

Excellent choice, OP. Disregard the one stick in the mud. There's got to be one in every crowd. I have no problem with people with differing opinions, but there is a way to express them in an inoffensive way.

IMHO wonderful choice for a first pistol! I own the 75b and now the P-01 (which now is my favorite pistol to shoot). I love those grips, they look fantastic. Congratulations!

Excellent choice OP! CZ is excellent brand, feel good, quality of looks, aftermarket support, and reliable as heck. Plus, they have a bunch of stuff on roster, so we don't get screwed by off-roster premiums. I handled a 75b, and I almost picked one up--price is just so great for what you get. But I was still in the window of my last 30 day purchase, so I couldn't buy, and moved on. For now

Nice first gun OP! I was close to getting a CZ75b as my first handgun. But I got tired of waiting for new ones to come in stock so I got a RIA 38 Super and dropped a 9mm barrel in it. I love any full sized metal pistol though.

"Glock brand Glock" because the others....
                    Smith & Wesson SigmaGlock
                    Springfield XDGlock
                    Beretta NanoGlock ...

                    just won't do.

Congratulations cger99, on your choice. I'm glad you made one and joined the firearm owning community.

Screw the nay sayer... Every new gun owner (first pistol) is positive progress in my eyes!

You're going to have fun with those roll pins as a new firearm owner, lol. Alot of small moving parts too, complicated full dissemble. Should have bought a Glock brand Glock, specially as a new owner. It doesn't get simpler.

And the toyish looking, plastic Glock doesn't?

                              Wow. Glock fanboy much?

Can't even let a new gun owner enjoy his purchase? Why even contribute to this thread in a negative way? How about let the OP determine what gun is best for him? The last time I checked guns were made to be shot, not to be taken apart like LEGO's on a consistent basis.

I too researched my first centerfire handgun and ended up purchasing a Walther PPQ. What's my favorite gun I own and shoot the best now? - CZ 75B SA. I made a change from polymer framed striker fired guns to steel framed hammer fired. I just shoot them better and that's all that matters. I've had my 75 apart several times for modifications and it's no better or worse than the others I own.

OP - Excellent first purchase! You'll find that if you like CZ's as much as most of the people on this thread that they will end up multiplying like rabbits.

Just wonder, do you need to fully disassemble it often?
