    Glock Frame Insert

Can someone explain to me if these $6 frame inserts for your glock have any value or benefit? I can't find much info about them just wondering if it's just aesthetic or what.

Skip to 6:01 (but the whole video is good).

I have one in my Glock but YMMV.

Oh yea people like them but don't work on gen 4 if you have a grip adapter in place.

What are we talking about? The grip plug?

The benefit supposedly is keeping the inside of the frame clean.

The downside is if you have a magazine jammed, you won't be able to yank it out as easily. The hole in the grip gives your fingers more room to work.

Personally I don't see the need.

I got them on all my Glocks

The one in my 26 fell out at some point (it has no lanyard loop to lock into) and disappeared. I don't know how long it has been gone.

                Haven't replaced it.

Yes... It's a butt plug for your Glock. I'm just wondering if they have any real benefit.

You still have the sides and front to rip mags out. It doesn't hinder it in the way you're describing.

Do they have one for the 26 that stays in?

The one one my 19 locks into the lanyard hole, but the 26 just holds in with fit tension.

For me a Glock with a standard mag plate is hard to rip out. I appreciate a vickers mag plate for all my glocks with a butt plug. Standard mag plates for glocks without

I will say a butt plug helps sloppy reloads

I will have to look at it when I get home, but if memory serves the back is the only one that allows a finger in? Either way it's not a huge difference.

Unnecessary, I go three weeks and 1500 rounds usually before I clean my Glock 19. Magazines get tossed into the dirt etc. Never been an issue.

The only butt plug I've been interested in is one made by Glockstore. Because it has disassembly tools on it, so I don't need to carry a punch. And the tools are on the gun itself.

Butt Plug...ok I've never heard them called that before! I bought my G20SF used (6 years ago), it came with one, its still in it. I've also bought 3 new Glocks, before and after and never put a butt plug in any of them. I don't see the need or benefit. Waste of $6 IMO
