A black rear and a FO front should run you around $70-80 for the set. I have that setup on my Walther PPQ from Dawson Precision. Cajun Gun Works and CZ Custom also have sights for sale.

Czcustom.com has a better sight variety than CGW. I installed the CGW pro package myself and did all the polishing to smooth it out. No actually "fitting" was needed aside from adjusting the sear screw for the safety to function properly (easy) and the trigger travel screws (also easy, left out the over travel screw, felt it was unnecessary) and the result was amazing.

        Well that looks familiar

Thanks for the kind words. Added the flat trigger, CGW barrel bushing and FO front sight this weekend. I REALLY like this gun

I realized right after posting that half the pics people posted show CZ's with FO sights. Would black rears require a re-cutting of the slide? If possible I think I would like to try fitting the CGW pro parts myself, but if the slide needs to be cut then I'll probably have the whole bundle done by a professional.

I really don't know. I did all of these modifications myself but I didn't do anything to the rear sight. My guess is it wouldn't need to be cut but that is just a hunch.

Aside from the CZ PCR, 85 Combat and Kadet, (Edit: CZ RAMI, Tac Sport) all other non shadow CZs come with a Standard sight cut.

CGW and CZC have a few different sight options for the standard CZ sight cut. No reason you should have to have the dovetail reprofiled unless you want to install a non CZ sight.

CZ's are awesome. So since the parts are drop in, is there a significant benefit in having CGW or CZ Custom do the install?

Leave the SAO to the 1911. If you want another SAO then get another 1911. Otherwise enjoy the extra feature of have a DA option. Just my opinion.

"Drop in" just means you don't have to do any major fitting. I changed the plastic trigger for a flat metal one on my Tactical Sport. It took about 90 minutes following a couple YouTube videos. I got hung up on one reassembly step that wasted 15-20 minutes. I understood the gun a lot more when I was done and since the trigger was the only thing I did and I wanted to learn about the gun I opted to do it myself. If I was going for a pro-package worth of parts, I'd definitely have CGW do the work. I'm sure EVENTUALLY I could get everything dialed in, but these guys do them by the dozens if not hundreds. I picked up a CGW gun used that the seller said CGW took apart and re-worked twice because the smith didn't like the "feel" the first go around. You're not going to be able to get to that level DIY unless you already have a lot of skill.

Dovetail sights are not generally "Drop In" in my experience. Most that i have encountered required fitting for proper installation. In my cases this was accomplished by sanding the bottem of the sight dovetail on a flat surface until it the sight could be installed half way by hand or with a few light taps.

A padded vice of some kind is required to hold the slide for removal of the factory sight and installation of the replacement. This can require some force, when i say force i mean a real big hammer. CZ factory sights can be stubborn to remove in some cases.

A general rule of thump for sight installation is that if you have to force it your doing it wrong. I came to clarity on this point after murdering my fist rear sight. I have not murdered one since.

I found this video very informative to the process.

"is there a significant benefit in having CGW or CZ Custom do the install?"

Yes, the sight will be installed without damage to your sight or the slide every time, these guys are professional gunsmiths. I am not saying that they are impervious to mistakes but they are less likely to ding something in the process. They have the opportunity to get allot of practice.

I decided to take the chance an learn along the way. After doing around 4 of them the removal of the factory sight requires more effort than installing a new one. I still might ding some stuff but the satisfaction and savings of DIY has been worth it in my case. I do not blame anyone for choosing to send there slide off to a professional though. In some cases i would do the same.

If you do not plan on installing other sights in the future i might have a pro do it. If you have access to the necessary tools and you plan on working on other pistols in the future the experience gained may be worth it.

I'm new to CZS but I think there is definitely a benefit to both. I just picked up an FDE P09 today and am instantly in love, BUT cgw is building me a copperhead sp01 withe SAO conversion. Saw a few videos of the trigger pull with the same work done and had to have it lol. Maybe I'm just drawn to it because I cut my teeth on rifles before any pistols so a crisp trigger with little to no take up floats my boat more than anything else.

I am wondering if people who convert SP01's to single action have ever fired a properly set up SP01 Shadow with a fitted disconnector. I often find that they have a shorter length of pull, a shorter reset, with a sub 2.5 lb trigger, while still being legal for production.

I have not personally. Can't speak for others. I'm considering a p01 with the pro package, retaining da/sa. I'm in love with my p09, gonna take it to angeles tomorrow

Yep they should be done with my copperhead SP01 soon. Sao with their flat trigger is going to be incredible. I'm jonesing bad. I've watched every sp01 video around lol. It was gonna be my first cz (why save the best for last?) But I found a bnib p09 fde on the forum first.
