I have had both. Basically, besides the aesthetics and some checkering, the sights are the big difference. I prefer adjustable style target sights, so the ST II was my preferred gun.

They both worked pretty well, although I did have some magazine problems (feed issues and premature lock back), on my ST II. These all went away with a slight feed lip adjustment and some dremel work on the slide stop.

Anyone know why Glock discontinued the Gen3 G20 and only make the G20SF?

Also, is the Gen4 G20 the same size as the G20SF?

Mine also has the cut out. This is very interesting to know.
I was actually wondering if the interchangeable backstrap on the G40 MOS might be partly to blame. On my 20SF, the bottom of the backstrap touches my palm whereas on the 40 MOS, it did not. I asked the guy which backstrap he was using and he said he did not know - it was the one pre-installed on the gun (it was a new gun and his first time shooting it). Bottom line, if the G40 MOS was available here for MSRP, I would buy it.

Not saying anything bad about the 10mm, I used to shoot 10mm in a 1006 and a 610.
What is the big attraction with 10mm?

              Just guessing.
Large range of grain bullet weights and velocities Available. Underwood offers 135 jhp to 220 grain hard cast. Not to mention going to different calibers by barrel swap able to use in one gun 10 mm,40 cal, 9x25 Dillon I heard somewhere 11 but Im not sure what those are and entail. Then theres 10 to 30 plus round mags.

One more would be 357 Sig.

Ok without starting a pissing match!

                  In no particular order:
                  1. its the most power you can get in practical size semi-auto pistols (a Desert Eagle is not practical IMO)
                  2. This only really apply if you re-load, versatility in ammo loadings; on the bottom end you can load to your lightest .40S&W all the way up to the top you can load stuff well into .41 magnum territory.
                  3. This isn't so much 10mm as it is the guns its chambered in best example is the 10mm Glocks; gun versatility, 10mm handguns can be very easily converted to .40S&W, .357sig and 9X25 Dillon, and in a lot of cases with nothing more than a barrel change.
                  4. 10mm has an interesting history, its the father of .40S&W which has arguably become one of the top semi-auto cartridges in America. It remains in .40s shadow despite superior power.
                  5. Its different, out of the norm, draws a crowed at the range especially when shooting steel.
                  6. This one might just be me but I find it easy to ID my casings at the range in the sea of 9mm, .40 and .45acp 0n the ground.

Probably because sales of the G20 fell off when the G20SF had time to make its way into the market?

Yes, the Gen 4 G20 is very close to the G20SF.

The 10mm is a cartridge that will put a smile on anyone face after they shoot it for the first time. Hot 10mm loads demand attention at any gun range, before you know it you have an audience, especially at night with the 6 foot fire balls.

The 10mm is an awesome round. I've been a fan of the 10mm since the early 90s. Back then when you buy factory 10mm ammo you know it's above 357 magnum power. I got very close to trouble trying to hotrod the round. A 200 grain hardcast was my favorite bullet when penetration is the objective.

I don't like the target sights. I prefer the meprolight night sights that come standard on the Kimber Eclipse Custom II.

My dad had a 1006 when 10mm was brand new. Unfortunately I did not end up with it.

I picked up a used 1006 this year. Just got it back from a good internal polish job and plan to add it to my CCW at renewal.

My Primary EDC is a S&W 40 compact. The 1006 will be replacing my 410 on the CCW. Basically the same size with a whole lot more power. For those days when 40 cal just doesn't feel like enough.
