I opted to go with TRUGLO TFO sights, rubberized Talon grips, and the Streamtlight TLR-1s. Overall spent about $224 today making my new toy "nightstand friendly" ha! Should be fun.Comment

I use the standard sized front dot and just find them fast and intuitive, even more so than a vertical two dot configuration. Night or day you just dot the "i", and there is less worry about lining up dots or getting the front sight aligned in the rear notch. When I was using a three dot set up, I would use a .10 FO up front so I could see more of the target around the front blade but my view was still obstructed by the rear. With the XS's, the wide "V" shaped rear lets me see more of the target area.
The profile on the rear is also good for cycling the slide on an inanimate object if you were down to one hand. My only gripe about the XS's is that the machining is a little sharp and they took a chunk out of my hand during a class. I used a 3M automotive soft sanding sponge and beveled the edge which seems to have solved the problem.sigpicComment

I guess I should clarify, my "three dot" set up was more like one dot. I was using a FO front and then the stock rears with the paint removed so they were "blacked out" but you could still use the dimples as reference points in the right lighting. Obviously that's not quite the same as a single tritium dot or something up front with a designated rear but similar. My buddy has the Trijicon HD's I believe with the one dot setup on his G43 and also runs an RMR on a G34.
