That is a great piece of work, but I don't see how it is more useful than a gun that people aren't afraid to use.

The answer to 1911 vs Glock is: Both.

And also, Beretta, CZ, Springfield, etc. There is no bad gun. There is only "which one will I buy next".

Glock is a multi-purpose tool. 1911s are not.

For example, if you need a chew toy for your dog, you're GTG.

A new Glock costs less than doggy dental work. Someone I know had a German Shepard that could chew through chain.

It is normally the Glock guys saying that Glocks are the best.
The 1911 guys get tired of the Glock guys thinking they are the best.
They both work.
I have owned both and have now sold all my Glocks.
Sure Glock's were the thing when they were new and had no competition with other polymer frames. Now they are just the same old thing.
While the 1911 just keeps performing.

I would shoot it. I just wouldn't drop it on the ground or . It is not like shooting a 1911 actually makes it worse.
