People think the solution to their poor shooting is buying lighter triggers.

It's really more of a band aid that covers up the core issue. Find an instructor, preferably someone who shoots USPSA or IDPA. Anyone A class/Expert or above will get you shooting better in an afternoon.

With that said, a stock 7# Glock trigger pull is a bit heavy, particularly for speed shooting.

I have TTI connectors in all my Glocks. With their reduced striker spring, reduced safety plunger spring, and an OEM trigger return spring I get a 4.5# trigger.

Here's an econo version of their kit. $33.
    Yep...

Another cheap option: The zev race kit has all the same stuff as the tti kit, I got mine for ~23 bucks. Connector, trigger spring, firing pin block spring, striker spring, maybe another spring?

It's probably worth the price of admission just to mess around with the various pieces on your coffee table. Nothing beats more lead downrange.

Yeah, I have other guns I haven't seen a need to mod. The Glock, my first striker pistol, is different. The combination of a flexy feel at the trigger, plus a heavy wall at the break, that stops you dead, then has you push, is not in my eyes what I like. It's better now than when I started.

I don't know if you noticed, I did not use the 2 pound spring in the kit. I use the 3 pound duty spring to keep the weight of the trigger the same, but break crisper. I was not going for a lighter trigger, I may have not even mentioned "lighter" in any of my posts. The objective is better trigger feel. I like crispy.

Classes, more rounds, I agree. The post is about the ZEV and the Glock.

      Don't judge me bro! (j/k)

        I run this in my G19: http://www.wayofthegun.us/wotg-trigg...glock-pistols/

About 4K rounds with it, feels great, and no issues. The difference between this and the full Zev kit, or other kits, is minor in my opinion. With the money left over you can get this http://www.gunfighteru.com/services.html which will do a lot more to improve your shooting.

Always fun to get new gear though.

Interesting, the WOTG kit blurb actually agrees with my own conclusions. A polished or well worn trigger group plus tuning springs will get you a crispy trigger

I've been futzing with triggers a bit the past few months...I ordered a Vanek GSSF, the Proctor kit, a polished Glock parts kit from a guy on eBay, and I have a Salient on the way. Not ready to print any conclusions yet, but like all things I'm guessing it's one of those "exponentially more expensive for diminishing returns" scenarios.

            Keeps me entertained regardless

Would be very interested to know you opinions, even in private.

I only really looked into the Glock trigger mechanism when I installed the ZEV. The more I look into it, the better I'm understanding it. It keeps making me think of a crossbow trigger

Now I'm thinking the return spring, more than the striker will have a greater effect on the break, not as much on the pull weight.

Will do. I'm a few months away from giving an across the board opinion though.

Ever get light primer strikes with the TTI kit?

Nice! I just installed the zev tech competition spring kit that came with their v4 connector that I bought for $28 shipped. It took some of the mushy-ness out and a nice short reset on my glock 19 gen 4.

I have more than a few glocks but let me tell you, Glock triggers suck major league. Factory or even the best after market ones. Several of the popular after market triggers are just stock parts polished with a slight mod on the geometry of parts.

                          Great review by OP.

You want a good trigger, buy a $1000 gun that has a good trigger. Spending money to get a $500 glock's trigger to be work right is buying lip stick for a pig. It is still a pig.

Thanks for the review OP! Looks like I'll be sticking to polish and a minus connector when I get my G19.

Again, if you're not setting the overtravel to the minimum on the Zev kit, you're wasting your money.

That's the main benefit to it- that with the metal trigger considerably improves trigger feel, and shortens reset distance.

Using a hand fitted Ghost connector can get similar benefits, but again, there is some movement in the flex of the trigger bar itself- the Zev stops up front where your finger is.

For competition use only, you can minimize take up, deactivate the trigger safety and end up with a surprisingly good Glock trigger. But it deactivates ALL the safeties, so I don't recommend that.
