I have a 686+ in 2.5. The 3" one might be my next. I highly suggest a 4 if you want balance. Get a snub if you're looking for fire breathing barrels

Eldraque - have you tried them?
I find the 5" and 6" revolvers "easier" to shoot than the shorter barrels.
If you've tried both the 6" and the 4" in the 686+, and prefer the 4, then wait for the one you WANT.
Otherwise I would go with the 686+ with a 6" barrel.
I've been happy with (love) the "simple" 686 S&W with a 6" barrel - it actually is a Home Defense always reliable gun.
The other is a Glock 17.Last edited by kmas; 01-28-2016, 10:03 AM.Comment

Find a different dealer. If he doesn't have what you want look elsewhere. Or order yourself online sometimes cheaper.Comment

Get a 6" for the range. The longer sight radius can be easier to shoot accurately.
A 5" Pro Series with moon clips is a nice option too.
