No one ever shot themselves in the leg reholstering before Glocks were brought to market...

There are so many thing to catch the safety and trigger on a Glock while holstering to create a perfect storm. I am very careful holstering my Glock with a round in the chamber.

Guns are inanimate in this ND situation. If it's anyone's fault, it's the operator/user.

Any person with any gun with any safety can make that mistake. Never say never. Always slow down and think about what you are doing.

I'm a 55 year old machinist and can still count To 10. I've had a few close calls and each time I tell myself to slow down because this customer can wait a few minutes longer than he thinks. My fingers will thank me later.
My worst day shooting is better than my best day at work.

Mistakes don't just happen with Glocks, 1911s, or whatever.

Until they did an earthquake retrofit on our Civic Center, there was a neat .38 hole in the briefing room greenboard... and yes, it was from a .38 revolver. There was a .45 hole in the locker door just a couple of spots down from mine... from a 1911. A deputy that I knew managed to AD his S&W 6906 when he dropped it and tried to catch it. At least one deputy managed to discharge an AR15 into the roof of the building's archway while manipulating it. So, which of these firearms was more unsafe than the others?

Anyone who thinks that any firearm is "safer" than any other is only fooling him/herself and demonstrating that foolishness for the world to see by posting about "Glock leg" (or name your favorite brand) as though that brand were the only pistols that one could manage to shoot themselves with. Get stupid or careless and you can manage to maim yourself or someone else with any firearm.

Same thing for Serpa holsters and the like; if you don't feel safe using one, don't. Don't assume that everyone else is either as uncoordinated or unwilling to train with their equipment as you are.
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

Damn that Glock for firing when the trigger was pulled. Guns aren't supposed to do that!
