    Help... I ooops'd... KAHR experts...

I did a boo boo. I installed the slide catch/release to test the spring and forgot to take it out before reassembly. The slide is now stuck and catching on something. The slide release won't come out because the holes don't match up.

What to do? I can't rack the slide because the slide release is in the way so I can't go through the factory steps of slide removal.

Any at home fixes or send back to Kahr and hope they fix a user error??

Try holding upside down, and then trying to line up the holes?...can you post a pic? And I'll see if I can duplicate the issue on mine. Not 100% clear on what you did or what state the weapon is in.

If it went together, then logic says it should come back apart. I have had similar issue with 1911's. Try turning it upside down, shaking it, and applying some muscle to the slide.

      Good luck.

The slide moves forward and back about a CM before it stops. It sounds like the cam pin is blocking further movement.

If you want to duplicate take the slide completely off. Reinstall the slide release first then put the slide on.

Looks like the barrel is tilted and forward of it's normal position. Can you push the barrel down into the slide while moving the slide? Maybe that will find the spot where it locked. Or possibly push the chamber down, and push the muzzle into the slide.

The slide won't go further back because the slide stop pin is not properly engaged through the barrel slot so the slot is hitting the slide stop pin.

I edited as you posted., Or possibly push the chamber down, and push the muzzle into the slide.

The lock up is in the rear where the cam pin is.

That is why I am suggesting pushing the chamber down into position while pulling the slide forward off the frame. Just thinking out loud, maybe that doesn't help.

You sure it isn't the guide rod hanging up on the slide?

My best guess is the striker sear is locked up on the rear back plate. Pull your trigger continuously 1/8, 1/2, 3/4, fully as you move your slide back and forth should free it up.

The trigger is in the "fired" position. Since it is a DAO it hasn't reset.

That is an interesting thought. Is it possible to try and either push the guide rod in with a punch or try and move it forward with tweezers or something?

It's the sear that's engaged the rear of the slide. Since it's a DAO trigger that is already in the fired position the trigger can't reset to disengage the sear.

The slide stop was installed before the slide was on. So, the pin isn't through the bottom portion of the barrel. That is prevent the slide to go all the way back. Take a 1911 for example. If you put the slide release in first then attempt to install the slide then pin prevents the slide from going to the rear.
