      I have two pm40's, and over the last 10 years has had some problems with both of them. Next time call Kahr tech support, they have seen it all, and will guide you over the phone on how to correct. The times they couldn't they sent me a postage paid ups both ways box and got it back to me quick.

That should release the sear enough for it to come off.
