The python is not that rare, even in california.

Imo they are fine guns but the hype is not justified (and I own a few)

I don't own one and seeing how the prices have risen I doubt that I will. I've shot them before and they are nice guns but I'm happy with my Smiths and my DW.

There are some who may appreciate the python for what it is but would never pay todays prices just to say they owned one.

although i have high regard for the Python, i don't own one and have no intention of purchasing one. i could honestly put my answer into the poll if it simply offered up 'no, i don't own one' instead of the option now given.

Yah I think if you had the 3rd option you would see a significant skew in "no I dont have a python and i don't want one"

I owned a Python in the early 1980s. If you are a revolver you should have one. For lawmen it was a status symbol.

Today I am very content with my old Browning High Power.

Just posted a Python thread and saw yours but I have one. 1983 Stainless 6", really to look at every now and then. I shoot my Smith and Baby the Snake

Have a 1961 6" blued version. Paid 250 for it in "78". Love it but would not pay the current prices wanted today nor will I sell it when I leave California.
