I carry Glocks on/off duty for about ,22 years now. I recently ( last couple of years ) bought few Gen4 9mm Glocks (17/19/26) and find them a bit more accurate ( at 25 + yards). Is it just me ,or other shooters notice the same thing?

GLOCK GEN4 9MM ACCURACY.

My Gen 4 is definitely more accurate than all of my Gen 3s, but not by much. Using a ransom rest, I got a 1.5" difference at 25 yards.Originally posted by G. Michael HopfHard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times. -
Not a 22 year vet but I prefer the Gen 4 over the Gen 3
I like the finger groves, L back strap, longer/bigger mag catch and dual RSA. The back strap and finger grooves give me a better hold on the pistol so I tend to shoot it a little better.
I don't know if the Gen 4 is anymore accurate over a gen 3, but it feels better to me so I tend to shoot it more accurately.Comment

IMHO its mostly you. The feel and the way a pistol sits in your hand makes a big difference. Can DI AR's run dirty?

Calgunner Shenaniguns liked the results of his stock barrel in his Gen4 G19 so much he sent me back my KKM match barrel. On all of the Gen4 9mm Glocks I've handled and owned I've noticed that barrel lockup is excellent from the factory.Comment

I am talking about practical accuracy, not mechanical accuracy. I never tried to compare them off the bench. ( or a rest). It's simply takes me less effort to keep everything in the black (5". 10/9 ring ) with my Gen4 GLOCK 17 ( using premium LE ammo) than with Gen3. G17 using same ammo. I experience the same with G26 and G17.Comment

For practical accuracy I feel the same.I am talking about practical accuracy, not mechanical accuracy. I never tried to compare them off the bench. ( or a rest). It's easier to be consistent. That said I shoot my Gen 3's in matches because I like them and they are well worn in.Comment

G17 remember?
I've demonstrated the lockup differences between new Gen 3's and 4's dozens of times on random guns in the case. The Gen 4's had a noticeably tighter lockup the majority of the time. IME mechanical precision at 25 yards has never bettered 3 inch five round groups with a Gen 3 while I've done closers to 2 inch with a Gen 4 on a good day with good ammo. The trigger is easier to group with on the Gen 3's though.
It's still possible to see practical accuracy increase with a gun that has better mechanical accuracy over a similar gun with worse mechanical accuracy.I am talking about practical accuracy, not mechanical accuracy. I haven't been shooting my G34 Gen4 long but I can preform a Bris with my Springfield Range Officer in 9mm. My MOA with my G34 is probably 4-5" at 25 yards. There's a world of difference between these two platforms. Sure others can achieve much tighter groups with their Glocks.Comment

GLOCK GEN4 9MM ACCURACY.
So it was probably the changes made to the slide to accommodate the changes in the recoil spring design for a Gen 4 and somehow it improves the lockup or Glock purposely improved the lockup criteria but they did not want to put in in writing.
In OP's case, it could be a combination of lockup and the grip.

Gen 4's have a different spring system (captured double spring) that reduces felt recoil by about 20%. In turn that makes a target about 20% easier to hit accurately.

On a similar note, I shot my Gen4 G19 with and without a KKM barrel and I don't think the additional $165 is worth it considering how good the stock barrel is.G17 remember?
