So got back from SSZS where I tried once again to shoot my 97B (unmodified) with a range of different ammo (all round nose). And still same result where I get a fail to feed after the first or second shot. If I load 4 or 5 rounds, problem seems to be reduced but not eliminated (not really wanting to shoot this way).

I know it has been recommended that I alter the slide lock, but not sure I want to mess with this and I'm seriously considering a warranty claim with CZ and have them look at this.

Not sure what I should do since I have never mailed/shipped a firearm before.

The reason I'm hesitant to alter the slide lock is I don't want to mess it up. But I guess if I do new ones are $27ish.

      Anyway, looking for advice.

      TIA

FYI, bought the gun new in 9/2015 and using the included CZ magazines. Also, I have some hollow point snap caps and they don't have the problem. I just can't shoot HPs all the time so not really a solution.

        81degrees made a good post.

        Check this:
        - remove slide, put slide stop back in frame.
        - fill a mag with the hollow point snap caps and put the mag in the frame.
        - note the distance between the slide stop end and the bullet nose.
        - repeat using FMJ rounds.

I bet the FMJ bullet nose is larger / wider than the hollow points and is bumping or dragging on the slide stop.
FMJ rounds often have a longer overall length than hollow points, so the bullet sides are farther forward.
If so, the fix is to shorten the stop.

        What's your location?

Correct on all counts. The hollow points being shorter and narrower clear pretty easily. When I insert the FMJs I can't tell if the tips drags against the feed ramp or they bump/drag on the slide stop.

I will remove the slide and reinsert the slide lock and check it out and modify the slide lock as needed per 81Degrees' instruction.

          I'm in Downey BTW.

          Thanks!
