Springfield XD Service. Especially when it's on sale and coupled with Springfield's magazine promotion. A friend got one for $399 and 3 extra magazines for a total of 5. Along with cheap paddle holster and mag pouches.
Don't care for the grip safety, but it's not a deal breaker.

Yup. An AWESOME gun. Total workhorse.

FNP never lets me down my FNP 9 always goes bang

Haven't bought one yet, but I've put one in my hand and was very impressed. The trigger was great and the ergos were thoughtful.
The dealer described it as "a thousand-dollar gun they ask six-hundred for."
Seemed apt to me.

SP2022 are good guns and coming around.
Revolvers are often but really the only option for people that can't easily pull a slide back.
