When I read the title, the first firearm I thought of was a Makarov. Best darn surplus handgun you could buy for a song. And the ammo's pretty cheap too.

I have to agree with the Sig SP2022, I bought mine last year and no regrets. Today I put a PX4 in jail, I looked at it last year, but ended up with the Sig. I'm also looking to replace my S&W model 10 that I sold to my brother years ago, nickel plated snub. Some day I'll get another.

                  I miss my P89.

Heavy as all hell, and about as ergonomic as a 2x4, but it ran and was accurate.

I don't think any of those are over looked. those are probably mentioned the most when asked what first handgun or shotgun should I get.

Star-Firestar any caliber. Reliable, Sturdy, only issue is if firepin is needed is hard to find.

I remember when the P95 was $229 on sale at Wildsports and CZ was by far the most underated. Hardly anyone knew about them and the mil-coat 75's were selling for around $300 if you could find someone selling them.

The secret is out about CZ... maybe now the new underated guns are pistols like the Caniks. Still RIA 1911's too. Everyone says it is a good starter 1911, hahah. It is a good 1911.

I think the sarcasm was what was overlooked

RIA 1911 in 38 Super. Has been very reliable and the caliber is great and often overlooked. Also with a simple barrel swap you get to shoot 9mm.

Kahr, CT9. 8+1, full length grip, 4" barrel and still small enough for CCW.
