All this caliber swapping talk got me thinking. I am going to try and fit(myself) a 6" .400 corbon barrel in my Kimber. The barrel is cheap enough. $56 http://www.e-sarcoinc.com/400cor-bonbarrel6roto.aspx

All correct, but don't need 9mm mags, the 38 Super mags work with the 9mm bbl.
I got my 9mm bbl from Sarco and it was a drop in, even runs JHP without issue.

Mine do in my 38 Super RIA but found I can use 38 Super mags instead.

9mm mags work in the gun. It's basically a 38 magazine with a dimple at the end to push the 9mm to the front of the magazine. 38 Super won't load in this magazine. 9mm will load in the 38 Super mags and that's how I run mine.

They also have a 7.62 x 25 Tokarev barrel that I am interested in. Supposed to work OK with a .38 Super mag, but is ammo picky. https://www.gunpartscorp.com/ad/1289530.htm#1289530B

Been working on another SA 1911 LT 9mm. Just got done with bead blast 100 grit. Putting back the brush finish on the sides. Trigger parts will be custom and it should be 2 lbs. I'll post pics again once I'm completely done with it.

I would go with the Stainless 5" personally. You aren't going to get much more velocity out of a 6" 9mm IMO. And it would stick out the front.

Don't forget you'll need a link and pin.

38 super is longer than 9mm. 9mm mag has a spacer to seat the bullet forward. 9mm works with 38 super mag, but it will lag a bit inside the mag before it jumps out to the ramp. so may not be 100% in all situation.

Just buy another 10mm slide instead of open up the breach face. Unless u can do the work ur self, it will cost u about the same with a smith. Then u will have a lose breach face when going back to 9mm. Can affect reliability.

If u use full length guide rod, u can basically just remove the slide with everything captured like a glock etc, and swap back and forth

Have you experienced this? We are talking less that half a millimeter per side or .0225". I have read of several people doing this, as well as running 9mm barrels in a 10mm slide just fine.
