    Too good to be true?

Just DROS'd a very used Charles Daly 1911. Dirt cheap
It had a lot of custom work done on it. Checkered frontstrap, beavertail grip safety, adjustable sights, commander hammer extended slide-release and a Wilson barrel(?).
The finish is dreadful, but this is the age of Cerakote. It looks like it had an ambi-safety with lots of wear on the right side of the frame and there is an issue with the thumb safety, which garnered a nice discount when I pointed it out.
Anyway the fit seems pretty good with minimal play on the slide and barrel when in battery
I said "Project gun" and bought it

Depending on when it was made, the Charles Daly 1911 was either made by Armscor (Philippines) or BUL (Isreal). Both of which are excellent 1911 manufacturers.

Always a good deal, when you can get it cheap.

I'd say if it passes a function check, it's a win.

Good buy, CD was one of the first importers of Armscor 1911s. I think they started bringing them to the states in the mid 90's. They worked with Isreal, Magnum Research and Dan Wesson to name a few. I always wanted one of their Israeli Hi Powers.
Im a warmonger baby, I got blood in my eyes and I'm looking at you.

I bought mine "Charles Daly" new in 98-99 and it's my everyday gun. I consider them the new generation Norinco.
