I really want a full size 1911 in 9mm and the best two options I found for California are the Kimber Target II and Springfield Loaded. Just wondering if any one here has had any experience with these two or maybe knows of another 9mm 1911 on the roster. As of now I'm probably just gonna get which ever one I can find first.

I've got the Kimber. Had a few extractor issues when new. Once those were sorted out, it's become a solid performer.AL

I had the Kimber Stainless II, after break in, pistol ran flawless. No issues with any type ammo I ran through it. Very nice shooter, I would recommend. Have no experience with the Springfield but its sure purdy.NRA Pistol, Rifle, CCW and Metallic Reloading instructorComment

A little pricy but there's a RI double stack 9 with full rail in the marketplace right now that I'd love to have.

I have the Kimber SS Target in 9mm. Love it and never had problem with it. So far not even a ftf.Taiwan born, Chinese descent, red white and freaking blue America citizen.

I've held the Kimber Target in 9mm and liked it too, but couldn't justify buying it. I like the Springfield and they are very good. The major 3 things I hate about them are. Hammer, Sear and Disconnector - They are MIM parts.

Springfield has a ramped barrel. Kimber doesn't.
Kimber has Schwartz safety system, Springfield doesn't.
Both (and most other guns out there) have MIM parts. Not sure it's that big a deal.
I own a Springfield 9mm, loose and rattly, and sear was junk, I lightly polished it and it stopped holding the hammer back. Cheap and easy fix but annoying...
Shoots well now and is very accurate. Would I buy it again? Yes, cause I have no other options. I wanted the ramped barrel and Kimber didn't have that. And I didn't want to pay the ridiculous mark-ups being asked for off-roster guns.Comment
