I'm looking to getting a second 1911, I just can't decide if I should go for the colt 01991 or SA Gi. I do own a Dan Wesson,
SA life time warranty, $100 than the colt

To me "Colt is a Colt" is really only applicable if you are in the market for one of those authentic old war horses. Unless you're going for one of those let the product quality be worth more than the name.

Are you only interested in the two models you stated? If so, I'd go with the Colt. Not necessarily because it's better than the SA, but because, as you stated, it's a Colt.

I just want a GI copy off a 1911. But I also want to pass it down to my son one day, I would look into a loaded model or a xse but I just don't like the front serrations on a 1911

recent manufacture colts are excellent, and who knows what is in store for colt in the near future. I'd get the colt now. You can always get a SA later.

If you are serious about the 1911 you should have at least one Colt.

Picking up my new Colt XSE Commander tomorrow.

Been talking with experienced shooters and sellers and such during my research and the current Colts are awesome sauce.

Nothing wrong with SA but Colts are making great stuff again.

Yes, MIM, my neighbor's uncles nephew had a crappy Colt once bla bla, sometimes the internet just doesn't really represent a true picture. Go figure.
