My son (LEO) has a Glock 43. Side by side with a Shield - they are way to similar to just the cost of the 43. And the Shield holds more rounds.....

Save the money, buy a Shield!

Seems lots of people here have sons / parents willing to spend vast sums, and jump through lots of state and federal hoops to "gift" their relatives a stinking off-roster hand gun. I don't believe it for a second. Don't get caught up in it.
Just to be clear, some of Fathers and Mothers here on Calguns have raised our children right.

For instance, back in April, I was in CO. visiting my Son and my new Granddaughter (anyone want to be bored with pictures let me know). He wanted to check out the new LGS down the street so he and I stopped in. He was looking for a new BU (He's a LEO) and wanted to know what they had and what their prices were like.

While he was talking with the owner I inquired about the Glock 43. Not because I necessarily wanted one but I wanted to see what all the hype was about. They had one for $400 or $440. I mentioned that we couldn't get them in CA unless LEO or Interstate/Interfamily and they were going for $1,000 in CA. Thanked him and we walked out.

Fast forward to Father's Day and I get a card from the Son, DIL and GD. Inside is the usually sappy 'We love You, Dad' along with a picture of a Glock 43 and a note saying that it's on order and hopefully will be here soon and what FFL does he need to send it to.

Just picked it up from Gussler's yesterday and will be taking it to the range tomorrow. While I wouldn't shoot this everyday it will go into the EDC mix when I get more than just my Utah CCW. It fills the job that it was designed for (carry) and I like the feel better than the LC9 that I have. Plus as an added bonus it was from my son so it will never be sold by me.

So basically there are some of us that do get these legally and not as a way to gouge our Calguns brethern. Also this long winded diatribe is to say 1) anyone want to buy a LC9 with lasermax sight and I HAVE A GREAT SON AND A FREE GLOCK!!!!!!

Ok I did pay $75 for transfer and DROS but that's a cheap price for a new firearm.

Is it worth much more? Not to me.

If You see one for sale and want it , You can buy it via PPT.

PS. If You look around , You can find a really nice hardly ever used PRE LOCK?MIM J frame S&W 38 SPL revolver for about 400-500.00 all day long.

It WILL be more reliable. You can load it with any ammo You want (as long as its 38SPL) and it will go BANG everytime.

In a pocket holster , it will print less than a G43.

You can fire it from inside a pocket in an emmergency and it wont jam for the next shot.

Also , from experience , small guns make us lazy .At first we buy them to carry when its impractical (we think) to carry anything else.

Then we end up carrying them all the time.

I carry most of my life and I MUCH rather have my G19 in an emergency than a G43.
Agree with this, 43 nothing more then a BUG for me. The same for the Shield, the smaller print of the 43 makes it a better BUG in my book then the Shield.

You can stop guessing since you're just embarrassing yourself. If you're implying that the leo "loopholes" are just random loopholes you're delusional. It's the back room deals that the corrupt politicians make with the leo reps that piss people off. Leos are more than happy to support AND enforce the anti 2a laws, as long as they get treated "more equal" than other citizens. That shouldn't be too hard to understand.

BTW I just had a 3 month old newborn that I will try to raise right and in 21 years, hopefully she will be out of state and gift dad a Glock 143 plasma pistol in the 40 Watt range.

LEO's selling brand new 0 rounds fired 43's at over twice their cost is not a loophole. Show me a gun with a few hundred rounds through it and some carry wear and I might believe that the just didn't like it and wanted to sell it.

I know it's off topic, but it's a classic strategy Divide & Conquer. If I was a politician I surely want LEOs and Military on my side. Then the Church and banks.

Back to topic. I'm doing some mods on a friend's Glock 43. Trigger is heavy and crunchy. I really don't like the grip, but maybe I just got used to my S&W BG 380. It has the magazine hang-up when mag is inserted leaning towards right of frame. Need a more aggressive texture. Other than being made of unobtanium metal and plastic, I want one.

Having spent time on a Shield and G43, I would pick a Shield all day. Better recoil, easier to shoot accurately, both have around the same footprint if carried (though the G43 looks smaller).

It pains me to say this, but I even like the G42 more than the G43 and I don't love the .380 round.

This is from somehow who loves Glocks and owns a small pile of G19s

Anyone know where they would sell an extra magazine release for G43 so it can be shaved to fix mag insert problem?
