So the idea that using mobile 1 is more toxic than if somebody slapped a "Bob's gun lube" label on the same thing? Seriously?

If you want to argue that everybody should use froglube (a repackaged amusement park ride lube intended to be nontoxic) that's cool, especially if they have a grease version I'm unaware of, but implying that the guys using mobile 1 are somehow more doomed than the guys using Hoppes? Huh?
Hoppes is toxic too. Check the msds and pick accordingly. And yes froglube is mint flavored tracklube marked up 1000%.

        tetra gun grease.

will probably switch to a non-gun marketed grease after i use it up (which will be a few years)

otherwise i typically only use eezox oil.

Or, their Marine Grease. (it's blue/invisible, so your gun doesn't look like a gorilla blew his nose on it. )

I love Hoppes but the wife was always complaining about the smell.

I now use RemOil for cleaning and parts that need oil and BelRay waterproof grease for parts that slide. I've got a tub that I use for dirt bike maintenance and it does the job for firearms too.

I've used plenty of different kinds. Rem oil sucks, too thin and doesn't protect much against corrosion. Hoppes oil is just mineral oil (solvent is good though). Frog lube is expensive and gets all gummy. I've settled on the red high temp grease from Walmart and my gallon jug of MIL-PRF-63460 (CLP). Good enough for the military, good enough for me. I've been considering getting some Ballistol for my older wood stocked guns.

I don't think the exact type of grease or oil used matters very much. Some just cost way too much for what is just repackaged bulk oil.

Rather than brand vs brand I go back and forth on grease vs oil/lube for my slides.I have Tetra Gun Grease and on my Beretta 92's it will stay put for a long time and works great. But for some of my other handguns it doesn't disperse as much along the slides, even after taking q tip and racking number of times it stays in certain spots rather than even along the slide.

On those handguns I use lube- anything really- Tetra lube, Wilson lube, etc.

Never had a malfunction on a handgun or rifle due to the choice of oil/lube or grease I used. Main thing is what stays in place the longest so don't have to reapply every 50 rds.

I use Shooter's Choice Synthetic - it is already red in color. I've had very good luck with it.

I've used various greases for years, but which depends on the gun. I like a light grease ilke Slide-Glide Lite for my 1911s. It's thick enough to stay in place and do its job yet thin enough not to cause any stiction. That's important for tightly fitted slides.

I like Weapons Shield for my striker-fired pistols and most of my other guns.

I have another white (lithium/Teflon?) grease that I use that another member recommended a few years back, but I can't remember the name. Too many industrial greases have a very strong petroleum stench, but this one is nearly odor-free, works great, not too thick or thin, and was less than $16 for a 14oz cartridge.
