    The Mighty 10MM!

How many of you enjoy the 10mm? What 10mm do you own and what is your favorite grain bullet to shoot, 155, 180, 200 or other? Do you just shoot paper or do you hunt with it? What's your story, not an extremely popular round but definitely has a strong following.

I had a kimber eclipse in 10mm but sold it. Cool round, nice side arm if you are pig hunting.

      G20/G29, a couple 1911's.

My favorite is 180gr, pretty much all I load these days, although I did load some 200gr WFNGC's for my hunting forays. I did a little pig hunting with it on a friends ranch, never got close enough to anything to shoot it.

Great cartridge if you reload, super flexible load range.

Glock 20 slide and barrel for my G21 frame.

I mostly shoot paper right now. It replaced my 41 magnum as a trail/hiking/camping gun.

180 FMJFP seems to be the most accurate, but I am still working up some loads and doing testing. The 145 grain Lee SWC bullet seems fairly accurate for target shooting, but I doubt it has much use for anything else.

Had a Delta Elite I purchased new in Dec 1988, sold it a few years later. Got a G20 March 1991 for $499.00 at Turners (recently came across the receipt. dros was $9.00). Amazing how the price has not gone up much in 25 years. I've seen Gen 4's on gunbroker for 550.00-575.00.

It is my go to field gun when remote camping. 15 round mags. Full power 180gr JHP double tap, underwood recently, and went with Win. Silvertip 175gr for a while as it was the only near real power load available, a few years back. Also got a conversion barrel for 40 s&w for paper punching. Fortunately, never had a need to shoot in the field. The G20 tamed the 10 mm. The recoil on the Delta was harsh.

I fell in love with the ballistics back then and am still a fan. Never understood why it is not more popular; it seems like everyone recognizes the potential of the round. Even when the FBI picked, I don't remember a lot upsurge in people buying 10mm. I love that Glock has kept it alive.

I'm going to the 1100 grain VA (visible abs) round.

It's a little slow as you have to chamber a case full of H50 and then tap the slug in with a rubber mallet until it's even with the muzzle .

I'll let you know about accuracy as soon as I figure out where everything went.

              IAI Javelina and Caspian 1911.

I was looking at a Sig P220 Elite in 10mm. All steel construction and the fit is superb. Just too darn expensive.

Reloading 10 makes a world of difference.

Nothing better than a Glock 20SF or Gen 4 for a wide range of bullet weights and speeds.

Currently my favorite round is 135 Grain Nosler HP that zips out at 1600 FPS.

I reload all weights. For general plinking during the shortage I settled on 155 grain berry and they all run perfect in the Glock.

I also reload 175 Grain Silvertip. Bought bags of boolets from MidwayUSA.

I run .40 and also have a 9MM and 9X25 barrel that does 2000 FPS on a six inch barrel. Quite loud however.

I run a bunch of preban 15 rounders, most rebuilt with Wolff +10 % springs to lift those 15 rounds reliabably.

Favorite powders at the moment are Longshot and AA #5. I run Starline brass, by the 1000 count. CCI primers. I can build some beautiful ammo on my Dillon machines.

I consider the Glock 20/29 the perfect handgun.

                  I own 2 Glock 29s, 4 Glock 20s, 3 are gen 3 SF and one is a Gen 4 FDE that I haven't fired yet. That's 6. Also I own a Glock 20 Mech Tec Carbine Conversion..

One of my Gen 3 Glock 20SF s is a LoneWolf Longslide. I run a 9 inch barrel in that one.

                  My babies....

Where I reload. What a great Hobby!

Arguably the best handgun cartridge. I had a Delta Elite, sold it about 3 years ago.

I have a Glock 20 Gen 4. I bought it for woods carry and load up a 200gr Nosler on top of 8.2 grs of Longshot, which gives me right around 1150fps. I also load up 135gr Noslers on CFE that push about 1550 fps and are fun for blowing up jugs of water.
