Screw it. If you're willing to drop 800 then hold off on the glock and get a vp9 instead. You can completely customize your grip to your own hand

Gen 3 fits my hands fine and I shoot them great. I dunno about this Gen4 being more accurate than Gen3s. I get awesome tight groupings with my Gen3 models.

If the Gen3 fits your hand fine. For me the Gen4 are not worth the CA price premium over the Gen3s.

I'd just get another Gen3, with the money saved: replace the sights with Ameriglo I-Dot Pros ($74), and buy more ammo for training.

Join GSSF for two years $60.
You'll immediately get a coupon that you can use for a Gen3 G17 or G19 at a discounted rate of $425. It'll come with an extra mag, 3 total vs. the standard 2.
Your still on top money wise and you can participate at the GSSF matches. Free Glock Armorer services at the outdoor matches.

I've seen others mention the gen 4 17 is a better fit for smaller hands than the gen 3 17.
Is the same true for the gen4 19 versus the gen 3 19?

Yes, I am pretty sure. When the Gen 4's have the Med backstrap installed they are supposed to be the same size as a Gen 3.

Edit: I just measured and confirmed that the reach to the trigger is about 2mm less on a Gen 4 19 with no backstrap when compared to a Gen 3 19.

Yes. I have both the Gen 4 17 and 19's and I have smallish girly hands. The Gen 4's fit me better than the Gen 3.

Lol then you probably won't have those guns.

To bad they are both da/as and most who want a glock disdain that (I used to love sits and had many now I don't shoot the one I have left...so bad comparison).

Have Gen 2 and Gen 4 G17. Shot Gen 3 also. Really like Gen 2 over Gen 3. Gen 4 is the nicest with the latest improvements and accuracy. (didn't use the back straps) Probably not worth $700 unless it is a must have for you. Unless you really like Glocks and they are your main platform, the differences are not earthshaking. Generally, a glock is a glock. Oh, both Gen 2 and Gen 4 will eat anything you feed it (healthy accruate or crap diet of garbage ammo). Probably true with the Gen 3 also. My Gen 4 will keep up with my SIG P226 with groupings, yet all glocks tend to move a little to the left.

I prefer the Gen 4 because of accuracy and grip texture. I have both a Gen 3 G19 and Gen 4 G19. The Gen 4 is more accurate from a ransom rest. At 25 yards, it gets 2" groups while my Gen 3 gets 3" groups.
