Seriously, I don't shoot in the dark (occasional low light range practice though), but it makes the front sight easier to acquire. At least for me.

    YMMV.
    Sorry, not sorry.

Dear autocorrect, I'm really getting tired of your shirt!

Did not experience it with the Powermags. Chip Powermags and Wilson Combat Mags have a removable floor plate that comes in very handy when you have an issue and need to take them apart from the bottom. They are just a better design. When my Shooting Star mags locked up while loading them, it was bear to get the rounds out safely.
Thanks, good to know. I'll definitely spend on some better mags if I ever decide to load my HST's into this one. It's never been an issue while shooting hard ball, but the follower does seem like it's susceptible to nose diving the rounds

I promised the owner I would not to divulge the location. Sorry.

Unfortunately I don't get as much time doing it as I would like. Once every few months at best. Only been twice this year.
        Sorry, not sorry.

You'll get a lot of different answers, but obviously the best mags for you are the ones that work the best in your gun. Many people are more then happy with the stock Kimber mags, while others say they are garbage. If your stock mag works in your gun and your OK with a seven round mag, you can find them cheap.
I currently use Tripp Cobra, Wilson ETM and 47d, Kimber Tac mags, CMC power mags and match grade. I like eight round mags, my carry 1911s use flush fitting Kimber tac mags and CMC match grade. My full size 1911s all have mag wells and use mags with a large base Tripp, ETM and power mag.
The longer mag body of the Tripp and ETM are the best set up for eight round mags, but my Tac mags and match grades all function great in my less then 5" guns. I use Kimber tac mags in my Ed Brown SF carry.
But I will say if you asked me my opinion on the very best 1911 mag, hands down the Tripp Cobra mag.
I haven't heard very many (if any) people praise the "stock" Kimber mags. Now their aftermarket KimPro Tac mags (made by CheckMate) are an entirely different animal and WELL worth the money.

Not sure where SonofWWIIDI goes but my local range is open until 22:00 and if we want to shoot in the dark we just shut the flood lights off.

I use CMC Shooting stars exclusively and have 0 issues. Grab some XS Big dots and look for Crimson Trace Refurbs on DVOR/ Optics Planet :<). I have had mine for about 8 years now and she runs like a fkin champ. I use her as my Duty weapon and my cold weather ccw.
