I believe the reference to the President has to do with our own Commander in Chief referring to members of our great Naval Services as "corp(se)man" instead of "corpsman".

IMO, the Sig 1911 line is one of the most under rated 1911's on the market. I like them so much I have a couple of them and I have my choice of owning any 1911.

I wonder if the feel of 1911s in a store is highly dependant on the grips that are on it and the grip safey. I mean between theses brands, if made to spec, all 1911s should be identical. Fit and finish may be different and beavertail vs duck bill might differ but typically the biggest difference would be the grips and if the gun has that "memory bump" in the grip safety.

Hmm. Come to think of it ... I believe I disliked my friend's Sig 1911 because the grip safety had a very square and tall memory bump on it.

I just got the MC Operator. Paired with Surefire 300X Ultra it makes a great home defense pistol.

Good choice, and a good price! My MC Operator is very accurate and a pleasure to shoot. Try the Chip McCormick power plus 10 round mags with it. Enjoy.

Great choice. You shouldn't have an issue with any mags whether they ore the OEM's, Wilson's, CM's or Tripp's.

                          Congrats!

ETM's are basically newer/upgraded versions of the 47D's.

I like Tripp if I am buying ~$30 magazines.

You should also have the Loaded coupon...cheap $12 magazines that you can re-build with Wilson internals if the springs get worn down.

1911s are great game guns. I wouldn't get one with a rail because it limits holster selection. Now if it's a nightstand piece then I prefer it to say Smith and Wesson in 357 or 45 Colt.

Where did you nab an operator for 1100 OTD?

Also Ive never had any issues with 47d's in my operator, but some people say it doesnt reliably lock back the slide and this was true in an older loaded model i had.

any pro's and con's with the Springfield? any one had issues with their mcoperator?

if not the springfield, what should i look for?

                                thanks.
You're in luck. Springfield happens to have the best customer service from that list.
