The only thing I don't like about CZs is how slim the slide/small the the frame cuts are.

You don't see the 83's too often much less in nickel, nice pick up.How much was it?I have one as well that I acquired from another calgunner awhile back.Love it.I put the walnut CZ grips on mine,i really like the way they look with the nickel finish.Well dang it....was at the lgs for a pick up and walked past the used display case which is normally filled with wheel guns and it stood out....nickel cz83 on the bottom shelf pressed next to the glass. Darn nice looking gun, stiff recoil spring, feed ramp looked nice and surprised the barrel was also nickel plated, inside of barrel was smooth as expected. Very smooth trigger system in SA with very little over travel if any, nice audible safety click. 2004 production and sadly only one mag, no box. But other than a small 1/16" square scuff/rub mark, it was very minty, like hardly shot minty. Why o why!!!! Threw a 30% on it and it will come home next paycheck dang it. Sales guy said they had just put it out today and only one guy handled it before me, he said he had to think about it. Sales guy said that means he'll be back tomorrow lol. But you don't see these everyday in cali

I heard a rumor that CZ was going to make another batch of cal-legal CZ83's this year like they did with the 97b. Hopefully that rumor turns out to be true.
*edit* On the official CZ USA website the gun is listed as discontinued/Limited Production. So that rumor might have some merit to it.Last edited by 3lixer; 06-16-2015, 8:00 AM.Comment

That's what I heard as well, the 83 blued is still on the roster IF they do make a batch. I did snag a 97 from the batch made early this yr for cali
I was never expecting to see an 83 in a shop, none the less in nickel which I think looks better. Glad others on here would have jumped on it too if it was them, I was thinking the price was sorta high compared to other states. But condition and rarity in this state worth the extra $70....I hope so

I have a P232 and my brother has the 83 and PPK, all three are UNCOMFORTABLE to shoot, the PPK more so in my opinion.
As far as kick this is how they felt to me, the PPK kicking the most, P232 and 83 about tied, the grip comfort goes to the 83, and accuracy to the P232.
As far as reliability P232 and 83 have been flawless, the PPK ?? some faults but not unbearable.Comment
