Not sure how many different models of Nighthawk we have, but we have probably 50 different models of 1911 from Springfield, S&W, Kimber, Nighthawk, Sig, and probably more (all I can remember ).

Wildcard: Les Baer Thunder Ranch. I recently had the opportunity to fire a few rounds from a TRS and it was a truly moving experience.

Can I vote for a base gun (maybe a Springfield Loaded or Colt) and $1500 of smith work from, say, Heirloom Precision, Ned Christiansen, etc. etc...

          Does this answer your question?!

"Most people understand that guns deter criminals. If a killer were stalking your family, would you feel safer putting a sign out front announcing, "This Home Is a Gun-Free Zone"? But that is what the Westroads Mall did" (in Omaha, Neb).

Didn't the people from nighthawk come from Wilson Combat? I think they all make a pretty good gun. I would probably go with Ed Brown or Les Bear before I would a NHC or a WC.

Don't think that Wilson Combat doesn't have any QA problems. When I was in Colorado I have sent more WC parts back than anything else. Most higher end 1911's are going to be a good pistol. I have shot a Wilson Combat and wanted one, NHC and wanted one of them to, Les Bear wanted one and Ed Brown's and now I have 3 of them. (Special Forces, Kobra Carry and a Kobra)

Now back to the topic, one of each please

I really shouldn't vote, because I've only had one Nighthawk on the range to T.& E. and many Wilson's - but I vote Wilson.

Better track record. I know they have great cs, and their product is top-notch in all respects.

The Nighthawk my buddy purchased was great, but one example doesn't prove the product line. I seem to remeber readin a forum where a guy had issues with his NH, and cs wasn't anything to write home about.
