I'm willing to accept the new grip texture, hopefully it'll be as rough as what Sig's got or even rougher, but the Star Trek looking serrations gotta go. I know it's a lame reason, but that's the only feature that makes me think twice every time I handle an M&P. Call me old fashioned, but a gun can be beautiful and still look like a serious machine, not a toy that looks like it was designed by Tyco, or a sporting good by Nike. However, that's just my opinion and taste is subjective.

I like the frame but as for the slide, not so much.

I love Glocks but I think they need to do more with their R&D then just coming up with different slide and frame variants. Their booth is extremely boring at SHOT but I do like the special guest appearances.

Just glad I got all the 3rd gens I need. That is ugly IMO. I love glocks because they are nice and simple. I hate this futuristic, curvy stuff. I personally love simple. Simple for me is beautiful. One reason I never got into the new HKs. People swear by them, but I love my USP/expert. No curves, no lines. Simple/beautiful.

                  Hmm, a thought.

Will the Gen 4 frames work with Gen 3 slides? Solves the problem of the new serrations .

I have seen a version with the regular slide serrations, but with the new grip.
Could have been an "older" version before the product was finalized.

It's a glock.. I'm pretty sure most would agree, even the first 3 Glock generations were never meant to win beauty contests.. Admittedly, I cant' say as I really care for the looks on this particular generation of Glock.

Regardless, Im pretty interested in seeing if the grip is improved and if the newer slide serrations provide more 'bite' for my hands..

As for modularity, Im inclined to say "yes". Glock has been extremely good about parts modularity.. Many of the parts from any glock can correctly be used in any another glock. There's some variance, but theres' a lot of interchangeability for connectors, strikers, springs, triggers, slide release, magazine release, sights.. etc etc..

Obviously, you cant swap everything.. But you'll likely be able to swap top/low ends without issue on same size models..
