Need help finding Left Eject handgun

One would think a 1911 blank slide would be somewhere to start. as long as it wasn't already ported, couldn't you just mill it for a left hand port?? What else would be needed for it to work properly?

I know Randall made a left handed 1911 years ago. They are a bit hard to find and expensive. A shooting buddy had one and I did get a chance to shoot it. It was a bit weird for me shooting it right handed.

Doesn't the internal extractor and ejector also need to be mirrored? I think that the whole deal is more complicated than moving the ejection port

^ Yeah just milling out a blank slide with a left hand port is going to result in jams unless you have a frame with an ejector on the right.

I'm trying to locate a full ambi handgun on the CA roster. I prefer it to have ambi slide release and clip MAGAZINE release. I'm more interesting in finding one that has a left shell case eject. I appreciate any help.

Ambidexterous controls I can understand, but I don't get why left hand or right hand ejection is of any importance. I'm not saying it's not important to someone, but I was wondering what the improvement for a left handed shooter a left hand ejection is. Is it so you can check the chamber more easily, or easier to "unload and show clear" with the the gun held left handed?

He explained why, seems a little silly to me, but I guess that could be an issue.

I naturally turn my gun to the right and cock back with my right hand when I want to empty the chamber but with a right eject the round just flies straight to the floor. I would just like to see it fly upwards so that I can just grab it out of the air instead of picking it up off the ground. lol

Even without the Roster, I can't think of a modern mass produced handgun that ejects left. The only thing I've seen are a few custom 1911's... and even those were meant to be paired with a similar right-ejecting 1911.

I'm right handed, but sometimes I'll shoot left handed and have never been bothered by the brass ejecting to the right.

Hypothetically, if a pistol were made in California, it would eject LEFT.
