    Glock trigger guard undercut

I am considering undercutting the trigger guard on my glocks. I know I will love the feel, but I am slightly concerned about losing some strength and integrity by making the polymer thinner in that area.

What is your experience with an undercut trigger guard?

Are you doing it yourself, or having someone with experience do it?

I've done the undercut twice now on my own glocks and I love it. If you are doing it yourself take your time. Customize it to your own finger placement. Realistic I've found that I don't get that much higher of s grip. I found it works best for comfort to get rid of the rubbing on my middle finger. I studied a lot of pics of how the pros do it and frankly it didn't work for me because the cuts they make aren't long enough to accommodate my knuckles. Also use a smaller diameter sanding wheel for fine adjustment of your cutout followed by successively finer sand paper. I ended up wet sanding with 2000 grit for that super smooth look.

I would be doing it myself. I'm pretty skilled and compitant when it comes to that stuff

Just take off a little at a time until it feels good in your hand. You don't need to remove as much material as the ones that HopetonBrown posted (unless that feels best to you). I took off only 3mm of material from my Glocks and it made a significant improvement.

I've done several Glocks and M&Ps. If you're using a dowel wrapped in Emery cloth just go slow, stop and look at your progress.

i have no history with the undercut, but would like to request that you share a review if you do the modification to your Glock.

Would you walk us through the procedure? I'm very interested and would like to build up the courage to deface my Glock properly.

I would but I used a jig to hold the frame and a mill to do the double relief cut for Glocks. Plus I did my G35 a while back. The stippling hasn't started yet I got sidetracked with other guns. I'll finalize the trigger cut reliefs once I figure what type of stippling to put on it.
