Squibs do occur and its easily unnoticed even by the most experienced shooter. If you are in the business of selling reloaded ammo and state "We guarantee all of our ammunition with 100% Satisfaction!! Our reloads are a great way for customers to practice at an economical rate without giving up quality. Give them a try and see why we have so many repeat customers" Ask me is the OP satisfied? I like to see how LAX claims that the squib its not their Ammo at fault. If you are in the business of making and selling reloaded ammo there will always be variances in quality. Ask any manufacturer, sure nobody wants to make a bad product and try there hardest to make everything right but lemons, faulty products and stuff does occur. That's why you make a guarantee and stand behind your product in case things like this happen. The real question is really what they are "guaranteeing" Actions speak louder than words and this will prove what their guarantee is worth, 100% Satisfaction is so grey. Instead of pointing fingers and using legalese I hope they cover it all and do right by you as a sign of good faith and stand behind their product. This is unfortunate for all and chalk it up to the LAX cost of doing business, a valuable lesson for you going forward and hopefully win you as a repeat customer. Maybe this thread will give future readers some peace of mind knowing one shoots LAX Reloaded ammo you are gtg, but most likely they will stonewall you, claim that they are responsible for the squib but the damage afterwards was caused by the OP and can't be tied to the squib, probably just refund you the price of ammo and range time etc. If they go this route, then I can make the argument that stand behind their product 100%!...unless... its when you get a squib and damage your gun then your SOL sorry. I prefer this to be positive win/win situation vs a lose/lose. Good luck and keep us updated.

I am glad you are ok. Good luck on this.
Squib as others say. I am sure glad I have yet to experience a Squib after 40 plus years of shooting a lot of reloads.
I have experienced overcharged ammo in my pistol and hot loads in my AR. Thank God the pistol was an S&W 659 which is built like a tank. Stuck the case and had to hammer it out.

The barrel is completely split in half and bulging out in the center, after looking around on the internet now I really know what a squib unchecked can do...

Wow. The barrel obstruction was where the bulge is. Glad to see you're OK OP.

I can't imagine any range that made you use their ammo staying in business over the long run. And in any case, he chose to shoot there and also chose to shoot their reloads instead of factory new.

If their ammo caused a squib and you caught it before firing another round they should refund you for the ammo. You shooting another round behind the squib makes you 100% accountable. That being said I would still raise hell trying to get a new gun lol.

A little JB weld and some duct tape and that pup's as good as new.

Does LAX require you to purchase their ammo, as in nothing but their re-pops? In other words is factory ammo okay to shoot there? I looked at their website and it's a little unclear but it appears ammo other than theirs is ok.

I'm of the opinion they should probably pony up and pay for half the cost of replacing the gun. I think the blame is shared by the ammo and the shooter but probably more with the shooter. Good luck, seriously glad you're okay.
Buy made in USA whenever possible.

Last time I was there (3 weeks), they let me shoot my own ammo except shotgun. I had the exact same shotgun ammo they sell, but it was a no-go.

I only run their reloads at their range through their pistols.
                        C&R nut.

That sucks OP. Just be thankful that you still have a face and it wasn't a $3,000 1911. I hope for your sake.

Glad that you are ok, but time to accept that the error was yours and SA has a good product that let you keep your hands and face in tact. Yes, LAX ammo had a squib in the mix, but that squib did not force you to pull the trigger on the next, detrimental, round.

If something feels "off" or sounds "not right" take some seconds to investigate. With firearms there is always an inherent risk not only from the shooters around you, but from your hand as well. Mistakes are just that - something that we would not repeat had we known the outcome prior to the action (at least if one has intelligence).

You now get to decide if you liked the SA enough to purchase the same gun again, or go in a different direction. Either way get a refund for the remaining ammo.

It's either on the ammo manufacturer or you for choosing to shoot reloaded ammo. Shouldn't cost the gun manufacturer a dime in this case IMO.

On a side note, I had a glock that I installed a frame plug in and it cracked the frame. I called them and told them what happened and said I'd pay for a frame, but they ended up sending me a whole new gun and all I had to pay was shipping to them.

Maybe you'll get as lucky with springfield, but I'd try to pin it on LAX first.
I second this. Springfield may just surprise you.
