CZ SP-01 rear sight set screw missing?

My SP-01 has a set screw.
I just tightened it after reading this thread.

doesn't the front sight have a set screw as well? maybe the tool is for the front sight.

I finally have closure on my missing rear sight set screw misfortune. CZ-USA mailed me a new set screw, item number 309913003004 (Rear Sight Set Screw M3x4). I am grateful for the new set screw from CZ-USA. However, It would have been respectful if CZ-USA replied to my email inquiries. It would have given them a higher mark on my customer service scale. I believe that I will be installing the new set screw with some Loctite248 Blue threadlocker.

Honestly, I'd just strip the gun to the bare slide and take it to home depot and find the correct threaded screw. Get home, cut it to length real quickly, and be done with it. The firearm portion is the frame, so you're legal to bring the slide.

Somethings are easier to fix yourself than rely on customer service through the mail.

I have given up on help from the CZ warranty group. Trying to get this set screw problem resolved with CZ has turned me off to their products. I own a 75B and a SP-01 but no more CZ's for me. I was looking into purchasing a .45 ACP pistol. I looked at the CZ 97 but because of the lousy CZ warranty, I purchased a Sig P220 instead. A much better built pistol.

^ This does not answer your original question, but if it's of any hope/value to you, I saw some Tru Dot (Mepro) sights for the CZ with the set screw and some without. I do not know the set screw size.

Most people have had bad luck with any kind of service from Mepro, but they would know the answer. Although from what I've heard about Mepro (and not excusing CZ not fixing the problem), I wouldn't be surprised if it was Mepro that forgot the set screws or didn't send enough when they sent CZ the sights (in bulk) and now CZ can't do much either. Otherwise, CZ Custom or Cajun Gun Works may know, although from what I understand, neither are in a position where they'd be obligated to give free advice.

Are you cereal? Just go to a decent hardware shop and buy the dang setscrew you need. I have never had problems getting warranty parts from any company except Springfield. They wanted me to ship the gun in no matter what and I don't have time for that.

I used to own a half a dozen Sigs. The key words are used to, since I sold them all years ago. I did not find their construction or finish to be better. If you upgraded your CZ's, the distance in performance wil increase significantly.

I shouldn't have to do "squat didly" except receive the correct part from CZ USA. If they can mess-up getting me a simple screw... This is an example of CZ warranty. Period.

I don't own my pistol to dress-up like a Barbie doll. I want it combat ready like it is suppose to come from the factory. Less than a 100 rounds should not do jack to the gun.

I'm tired of accepting crap like this from firearm manufactures. Everytime the rest of you POS accept cr@p like this makes it harder for the rest of us folks who pay good money to receive good products and service. Don't honor manufactures who can not and will not honor us the consumer. CZ pistols are too expensive for what you get. Period.

I bought my SP01 back in 11 or 12 and the rear sight was not the version drilled out for a set screw. The low slide profile combined with my big hands led to the rear sight getting extremely loose in the slot after a few years. I emailed CZ a couple years ago and they offered to send me the upgraded sight or I could send in the slide and they would install it for free. Opted for the latter and it came back with the newer set screw version. Was very happy with their customer service, only thing I paid for was original shipping. I'm surprised you're having issues with them.

I'm glad CZ customer service worked for you. However, you shouldn't have paid a thing for shipping. The only other gun manufacture that required warranty work in my collection was from Smith & Wesson. S&W fixed my problem and paid all shipping, to and from. I paid nothing to get my problem resolved. I will continue to purchase S&W when it fits my needs.

Sorry to hear that you had a bad experience. Glad to hear that you got your replacement set screw at least.

I have used CZ USA's warranty service tree times now. Once for a bad extractor on my CZ97, once for a faulty safety lever on my CZ P-09 and once for a cracked wood grip panel on my CZ TS. I have never had an issue nor paid a dime.

For me CZ USA's warranty service has been top notch, i can ask nothing more of them.
