Is there a good place to find off roster PPT values? I see things for sale here, but most say the prices are high and you never know what something actually sells for. Is it as simple as x+price in a free state? How do I know if I'm getting a good deal?

Not simple at all
Buyers will look at gunbroker and tell you that's the price you should sell for, regardless of your sse cost or rarity in ca.
Sellers will double the price based on perceived rarity, even if there are 15 other vp9s in the marketplace.
The habit of nearly all the cg sellers to delete their ads, or at least the selling/asking price doesn't help either. Though, I am beginning to suspect this may have something to do with the 5 or 6 per year rule.

You're getting a good deal if you get a gun you want and you're happy with what you paid.
Sent from my DROID RAZR HDYes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

It really is simple.
If you want it, buy it.
If you want a bargain try BIGLOTS
If the price makes you pucker-move on
If you pass on it you might never get a second chance depending what it is.Only slaves don't need guns

The beauty of the free market is just that. A seller can price his goods as he sees fit and the buyer decides if he is fit to make the purchase based on funds and desire. It is a bit sad to see the mark up on some of the guns for sale here on CG, but then again, it lets me know how bad I really want or need something.....
I recently came across an AP9 that I coveted in my youth, but knowing its not best gun, and seeing a price tag that was 3x what it would have sold for new, made it easy to leave behind...Now if I can just get over the fact that I may never find one again I'll be ok.For Sale: GSG 5 SD (22lr) $275 (fees included)

I just wish calguns would charge something for posting. $5 a post would make a lot of the sillyness go away.Comment

20% markup? LOL.
I'd be happy if I got 5% over what I paid for my off roster guns, even the unfired ones that I have sitting around still (Shield NTS, VP9, G19 & FDE G17 Gen 4, LC9S Pro, etc). Just enough to cover my time having to drive around to different LGS's for a PPT since I'm busy these days.Comment

yup - simple econ 101 - supply & demand
the guns will go for what people are willing to pay, if no one buys, then you're priced too high.
for all the people complaining, you should have done your due diligence last year before SSE's went away. You have to account for the $125+ SSE fee and tax, and the loss of a SSE slot. It's a free market.Comment

Off roster doesn't mean it was purchased via SSE. It only means it's off roster. I bought my M&P 9 and 9c when on roster. Now they're off.
Ask what you want. If it's fair, it will sell. If not, you'll get crapped on and ridiculed in the other forums. My Marketplace Feedback: https://www.calguns.net/forum/market...k#post54003245Comment
