If you can get reasonably close, after some practice, you should be able to clear them out in short order with a <$200 .177 pellet gun. You shouldn't miss if you train for your shots and stay within that range. Be discrete. Maybe a one night massacre, then remove the weapon from the premises just in case of an unsolicited call by a neighbor regarding a suspicious noise. A neighbor and I solved a problem years ago within city limits but we were discrete about it, and these were outdoor shots. The wounded ones we couldn't collect were disposed quickly by neighborhood cats. Happy hunting.

Another necro post but here goes, I don't think pigeons and even songbirds can be totally eliminated from any open-air workspace as their numbers are infinitesimal so a better solution would be to place bird spikes on top of all of the landing/roosting spots in the building. Walk in and look up at the overhead beams and see them in action at your local Lowes or Home Depot.

When I was working at LAX, We had a problem with birds flying into the hanger and crapping everywhere. No Firearms of any kind were allowed on the property, So what I did was, I found a Blow Gun, It had a threaded nozzle, which just fit a # 4 AN to 1/8th pipe fitting. Got a length of -4 aluminum tube a B nut and sleeve flared the tube, and Pow I have a 100psi blow gun. Now you ask what did I shoot the birds with, Long Wood Stem Q tips. It took a lot of practice, and a lot of Q tips, but eventually I got a feel for it. Most of the time you miss and have to just clean up the Q tips. But every once in a while you get lucky and a Q tip will go straight through a sparrow. The up side to this was the birds got the message real quick when you even came close. BlowGun.jpg

That's a nice idea. I wonder if you can take a standard pellet gun and make your own blowgun darts for it. I would make them out of wood or plastic to make them less likely to penetrate the metal roof if you miss.

pigeons are fairly smart. If you know someone with an airsoft, one could shoot the birds at night to scare them away. They do learn where they can and cannot nest.

I don't know if Airsoft is Illegal where you are or not

No license required to kill rock pigeons in California.

I eradicated our pidgeon problem in our El Monte shop using a bolt action 22 using 22 short cartridges. Yes, if I missed, it would go thru the tin roof. But the flair is going out and while you can see the sunlight, rain never got thru. You don’t have to kill many for the flock to figure out they need to leave. Legal? No, but in an industrial area, no one will notice.
