Got pulled over while carrying today

Pulling a trailer through Fairfield I ended up in the #2 lane due to a merging ambulance and semi. CHP motorcycle was also merging a few cars back and popped me for being too far over while towing.

He came to the window and asked for lic/reg/ins, so I provided that to him along with my permit and said "as a condition of my permit I am required to provide this to you.". He looked it over pretty good, but did not ask any questions about where the gun was, if I was carrying, or any questions about the permit at all.

He went back to his bike, wrote the ticket, had me sign it and I was back on my way. The end.

      Wow, pretty uneventful.
Sounds like he may have been pro-gun since he didn't seem to care.
Someone that was anti-gun may have made you disarm while he had you pulled over.

If it was a 3 lane hwy and you had to get over to avoid an incident you should of argued your point. I would try and fight it, most of the time they dont show. But it will cost you 2 days, so it will be a how much is your time worth to you thing.

              written declaration.

Was the incident on the hwy or was the Ambulance just rolling through.

If it was a highway incident, mile-2 miles ahead there may be record of it on the CHP website.

              Good stop otherwise.

It will be a commercial violation. Any vehicle while towing is under the same rules as a Big Rig. Limited to the 2 right lanes. So if it were a 3 lane highway, you should get no ticket. If it was a 4 lane highway, yer in trouble. Good luck.

Good to hear that there wasn't any drama with the LEO encounter. For the most part, LEOs in the Salano/Sacramento County are pretty calm around CCW holders; especially since they know that there are a lot of them now.

The only problem you might encounter are the Bay Area folks. I've been told by friends that they really give CCW holders a hard time.

Not if you are towing a trailer. If you are towing a trailer you cannot be in the left two lanes if there are four or more lanes on the road.

Pulled over awhile back with my gun in my cup holder. Not even a bat of an eye. The cop and I ended up talking about 1911s, and let me off with a warning.

Arguing with a LEO on the side of road while he is writing you a ticket is not only pointless but can get you more tickets .............

Traffic Court is where you argue your case.
