It was seriously about 6 minutes total. Alicia is running like a well oiled machine.

Had to trim it down pretty good to fit in wallet but was happy overall.
they allow lamination now? haha she specifically told me no.

Picked up my license today. I just got the paper slip, and was told I could laminate it and then fold it. They are currently out of laminate pouches, or they would have done it right there.

Has anyone renewed lately. I noticed that the policy says that we can submit our renewal no later the 90 days prior? When I renewed in 2021 I was not allowed to submit on the site literally until it was 60 days prior. Just trying to schedule and class in conjunction to the timing of all that.

I renewed a few weeks ago. Alicia made a point in telling me they changed the renewal window from 60 to 90 days and the safety/qualification certification from 3 months to 6 months.

Yes when I picked up my license I was told to renew 90 days before, and to complete the class before that so I could submit the certificate while submitting the renewal.

Is that written anywhere that the classes can be 6 months out? I don't see it on the sheriff website... But they have updated the regulation to 90 days prior for the renewal in their PDF.

Classes can be early for RENEWALS....however for INITIAL applicants its still a 90 day limit.

But is that written down somewhere?

I just heard they were are allowed to charge our sights, use red dots, and flashlights now.

                              Can anyone confirm that?

Honestly, I didn't believe that such idiotic policy ever really existed. Sounds like FUD to me. How could something so unreasonable and nonsensical be true? But hey, it's California. Of course it's true.

From the SCSO License to Carry Policy document:

207.5.1 (c) The alteration of any previously approved firearm including, but not limited to adjusting the trigger pull, adding laser sights or modifications shall void any license and serve as grounds for revocation.

So it's still in their posted policy online.
