      Even sights...

Until I hear otherwise, anything I plan on carrying on my permit will be bone stock.

I don’t plan on ever needing sights good enough in a defensive situation. And in a defensive situation if you ever had to even draw your firearm would you even likely use your sights. Or at least utilize a set of sights better then OEM.

pick up my permit today. Went well. Very friendly. First time meeting Alicia face to face.

Only complaint about this entire experience is the size of the actual permit. It’s a boat anchor haha!!

What was the time length after submitting the reference letters and training requirements. Waiting sucks.

My request must have gremlins looking at the process. My acceptance letter got lost in the mail and I was a month out before knowing I made the cut. Couple weeks for live scan then sent in my training and reference letters. Two weeks and counting, hoping for a Christmas present soon.

How long did your initial application process take for acceptance? I submitted on the 7th of November... I think holidays are slowing me down a bit, but I check the order tracker almost daily...

I submitted my request on July11. I had some lag times as I still thought I would need a pre approved interview and submit the rest of my documents, dd214, proof of address etc. I then got approved by letter which got lost in the mail. That added a month. Then it was live scan time. I then submitted the range qualifications and reference letters on November 25.

On the topic of modifications. Just some conversations I had prior to getting my permit.

                              Me to scso
I also was hoping to read up on more information on the types of firearms allowed on the permit as well. I wanted to make sure the guns I have are legal to have on my ccw.

I have two pistols that are registered in my name. They are both on the CA handgun roster and are in 9mm.
                              Glock 19 Gen3
                              Smith and Wesson shield 9mm

Hope to hear from you soon! I take my training course this weekend and should have that information/certification to you shortly after!

Thank you so much. Your team has been very helpful!

                              From SCSO
Your weapons you have listed below are fine to carry on your CCW.

Anything outside of .38, .357,.380, 9mm, .40, and .45 was not allowed. Additionally, there were no single action revolvers allowed

                              Thank you,

                              From the ccw policy
The alteration of any previously approved firearm including, but not limited to adjusting the trigger pull, adding laser sights or modifications shall void any license and serve as grounds for revocation.

Sooooo that’s kinda confusing. My trainer approved the training done with the gun in the modified configuration. And those two guns once approved were added to my ccw. Does this mean I’m good? And does her saying those guns are good allow me this? I don’t know. And those are the questions I am interested in.

I’m debating reaching out but I feel the execution needs to be absolutely perfect to make it work out in our favor.

                                And does “.38” include .380auto? .38spl? .38spl+p? .357sig?
