Has anyone else had any calls or progress in the last three weeks besides the call to CriticallyStressed and his wife? The last bulk of calls was over 3 weeks ago. Seems like someone got tasked to other projects, is on vacation, or maybe doing things in bulk, or something. I know it's a crazy learning curve to assign a new person to the task.

I hate seeing this thread move towards the bottom of the page.

Well, I turned in my targets a little over a week ago and from what I read in this thread, I probably won't get a response till at least the end of next month.

Well as I said earlier my wife got her call to do livescan... I on the other hand have been waiting about 3 weeks since I submitted my modification paperwork and target with no call (submitted prior to my wife's livescan phonecall). This leads me to believe that they may not be doing a bunch at once. Unless, however, they're only processing one step at a time in bulk (i.e. work on a bunch of initial apps and then work on livescans at a different time, etc.).

Bottom line from the experiences posted in this thread is that we have to be really patient as the system is far from optimal in Solano County. At least we're getting LTC's issued, hopefully efficiency comes with time.

The last major group of calls to turn in targets went out a month ago today...let's see some calls!

Something along these lines would be nice, "Hey there, come on by and pick up your permit!"

Well, I turned in my targets a little over a week ago and from what I read in this thread, I probably won't get a response till at least the end of next month.

Targets were dropped off today and from the sounds of it the Sheriff will get a chance to see them and a stack of others by weeks end that are pending. It could be wishful thinking, but I got the impression that phone calls could come as early as Friday of this week if he gets his chance to see them.

Hopefully. The last big group that got a call to drop off their targets got the call exactly 6 weeks ago. Nothing much has happened since then. I figure the Sheriff must be crazy busy or has a lot of other items on his plate. Running a county can't be the easiest thing to do.

Any status updates? It's been about 7 1/2 weeks since the call came to turn in targets. Has anyone called the department? I'd call but want to coordinate it as a group so we don't end up deluging them with phone calls.

No phone call on my end. I was kind of hoping something would have materialized based on my last visit's encouraging feedback....I'd be willing to give to it to 1st of March and then consider maybe a status update. I haven't been waiting as long as some so I guess I shouldn't complain, but would imagine if things are being reviewed in batches by the Sheriff maybe the permits are being processed in batches also and the phone calls will flow once they are all completed...of course at this point, the picture I took way back when in September probably has a lot more hair on it than I do now...

Although Solano S.O. is slower than we'd like, they are at light speed compared to most other counties. About a year ago it was taking four months. Since then they've been swamped with LTC applications. If you'd been denied, you'd know right away. No news is good news.

I heard that the SO had trouble with the machine that prints IDs, possibly including permits, and they just got it fixed. Looks like the ducks (fixed machine, more help for debbie, and more sheriff free time) are lining up. Might be any day now!

Pretty cool. Sounds like things are moving along. Thanks to Crossover for the heads up on the machine issue. It makes waiting easier. I don't think most guys have any issues with waiting as long as they know things are happening.

I can't complain, I've been trying to streamline the process as much as possible, i.e. doing training while waiting for the LiveScan to be completed, etc., and I'm faster than most at guys at 140 days today (4 months/16 days). I'm just waiting for the final call to pick up the permit. I figure a lot of us are in that same boat...

Just an update for everyone. Im not sure if anyone else got their call yet to pick up their license but Kathryn called me on Friday, the 24th. picked up my license on the 28th. This has been a very long process, but it is worth the wait. All in all it took me about 7 months.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone here at Calguns for all the help and guidance along the way.
