At least 80% hits on the body target (at least 20 out of 25) for each of the 2 guns you intend to carry

For Baptist's class, the course of fire is as follows:

        1. 5 Yards - 10 rds Total
Load 2 mags with 5 rds each
Load the gun with one mag
Draw from the holster and shoot 5rds strong hand only
Reload and continue shooting 5rds weak hand only
        2. 10 Yards - 10 rds Total
Load 2 mags with 5rds each
Load the gun with one mag
Draw from the holster and shoot 5rds strong side, supported (use both hands)
Reload and continue shooting 5rds weak side, supported (use both hands)
        3. 15 Yards - 5 rds Total
          Load 1 mag with 5rds
Load the gun with the one mag
Draw from the holster and shoot 5rds strong side, supported while kneeling

The above COF must be completed for each gun on the permit.
Also, 80% of the hits must fall within the silouette on a B-27 target.
Frasier mentioned to me that he's considering changing to a bulls eye type target (standard NRA rapid-fire pistol target) instead.

I know the PO are sworn officers but they don't carry guns and have to ask to carry them and be approved or turned down in Solano County. After reading some of the statements I had to giggle. I know that I can butcher the English language but some of those are real winners.

And there are counties here that won't even let their police officers carry off duty.

Time for nachos, or a steak. Long wait but worth it. Now I have to wait 6 weeks for my crossbreed holster. Arghhh.

Congrats! Nice choice on the holster. I got one for my full size 1911 and it conceals great with just a loose tshirt & jeans! 6 weeks though?? I got mine in less than a week from midway.

                I got the call yesterday!

Unfortunately, nobody was answering at the Livescan office to schedule my appointment for picking up the license. I'm hoping to get a call this morning and head in today for my permit. Then it's nacho-time.

                Edit:
                It's nacho-time!

Congrats! I feel like we are part of a graduating class or something.

So, should the title of this thread include "time to apply"? Seems like Solano is definately average Joe friendly.

Thanks, I feel the same way.

As for the "Time to Apply"... Havoc70 and Brandon are starting something that is almost to that point: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=465332

Basically telling people that there have been success stories but that a chance of denial still exists for otherwise clean applicants. I think the bottom line is making sure that people know that we can't just use "self-defense" as a GC Statement in Solano like in Sac.

Congrats! It seems like a long time since Gene's talk in Dixon, but putting things in perspective, we are so lucky that the wait isn't that long (yet) here in Solano Co.

No kidding! My mother-in-law just reserved her initial appointment for Sacramento and they're booked into July 2012! 3-months isn't too bad comparatively. (Of course my 20-minute visit to the Spokane Sheriff for WA CCW and receiving my permit 8-days later in the mail can't be beat!)

All right. I just got my second denial letter yesterday, even though it's dated 8/17. Thanks for all the help, folks. It was fun while it lasted.

That is preempted by state and federal law.

If you don't mind Epcii, was this an appeal to your "Good Cause" or was this after your live scan?

That is a bummer and continues to show the risk of denial exist beyond what Sacramento is doing. I am sorry to hear that. . At some point for the law-abiding (and maybe mentally competent, somewhat subjective I suppose) the mystery and subjectivity of 'Good Moral Character' and 'Good Cause' will have to yield to Shall Issue and portability of Self-Defense for all. My life is no more important to me than anyone else's own to themselves on this board and I find it troubling without end that someone's articulance on a form and/or post-encounter with less desireables is a prerequisite to LTC when you might never get a second chance to make that argument when you need it most. Metaphorically speaking (and regardless of one's Middle East politics ) I hope there are enough CGN's here dug in on making Shall Issue the law of the Republik than there are unrelenting extremist Palestinians seeking the destruction of Israel (or our right to carry) so that you get another chance at it under a different playing field in a Self-Defense only good cause. On this type of issue we need to keep that long standing intensity. One could argue criminalizing ones right to protection outside the home and putting it in the hands of another less capable is about the least 'moral' thing to do, ironically by those very same people tasked with making a moral judgement.

It was after an appeal for good cause. What's funny is that I have clean adult and driving records, while others with DUIs, illegal firearm possession, petty theft, etc. are getting LTC's (in different counties, however). The logic behind this is beyond me.
