Agreed... he talks quick at times and quizzes you in what you think you know and for renewals what you should know and not forget. I’ve had him for one initial class and two renewals. His later classes were in scenarios and dealing with an environment where you have to escape or fight.

So things seem to be moving fast right now. Just over a month start yo finish.

Initial app: 10/31/17
Interview: 11/14/17
Live scan: 11/15/17
Proceed to training: 11/28/17
Train cert submitted: 12/01/17
Final payment/pick up permit 12/11/17

CCW Interaction Notification

As per Solano County FAQ:

"I was in a situation where I displayed and/or utilized my concealed weapon. Do I need to notify the CCW unit?
Yes. The licesee shall immediately notify the CCW unit should they display or utilize the concealed weapon."

Has anyone actually done this process and or can tell me who/how it is to be done to stay compliant?

I had an interaction where I pulled my firearm. Vallejo PD was onsite and took all of my CCW information. That evening I sent an email to: Solanoccw@solanocounty.com

Email had narrative, and links to the video footage. I have not received any confirmation from the CCW unit. Is this just something that I leave alone as I have complied, or should I be trying to get a confirmation from them that they received my notification?

Anyone with experience on this?

I was attempting to clarify the specifics of notification.....as per the FAQ.

I sent an email....no response. Left a voicemail....no response. Short of showing up at their office I'm not quite sure what the CCW Units expectation is/was, hence I was seeing if anyone else had been in the same situation.

Still waiting as well. Figured the staff is probably short handed from people taking time off from work due to the holidays.

I DID receive a phone call this morning from the CCW unit. All is good, and notification is required when an incident occurs. Email is acceptable notification as per the coordinator this morning. On a plus the coordinator did give me some valuable feedback on my interaction.

Thanks Scott. No wonder I couldn't find it. There isn't an obvious link from the SCS or Concealed Weapons Permit pages to the FAQ. Bookmarked now!
